About the Iris Hospitals South (IZZ)

Our hospital has 4 campuses: Etterbeek-Baron Lambert (Etterbeek), Joseph Bracops (Anderlecht), Etterbeek-Ixelles (Ixelles) and Molière Longchamp (Forest). Our public health institutions are distinguished by the benevolence and respect of the staff towards each patient.

The Iris Hospitals South and the UMC Sint-Pieter are embarking on a strategic grouping project to strengthen the stability of both institutions and expand their medical partnerships. This project aims to maintain and improve the quality of care by creating a motivating environment for healthcare providers. This partnership is a great opportunity to strengthen the excellence of two dedicated public hospitals, underpinned by strong ethical values and an unwavering commitment to public health.

Why do we recruit?

We are looking to strengthen our team following the retirement of an experienced laboratory technologist. You will play an essential role in performing analyses that are crucial for the diagnosis and follow-up of patients in key areas such as chemistry, hematology, coagulation, the blood bank and the post-Corelab. Behind every analysis lies a unique story, that of a patient who counts on your expertise.

What does the job entail?

Your tasks as a laboratory technologist Corelab include:

• Carry out analyses according to the established protocols.

• Technical validation of the results and carrying out internal checks.

• Refuse non-compliant samples and redo tests with invalid results.

• Encode the results in the system.

• Communicate urgent and pathological results to the teams involved.

• Calibrate the devices, prepare reactives and bring them on board the devices.

• Maintain the lab's equipment.

• Perform internal and external quality checks.

• Training new employees in the procedures and good practices of the lab.

• Participate in the on-call services (weekends and public holidays).

Your manager, your team and your environment

The team currently has about sixty employees (technologists, administrative assistants, coordinators and physician-biologists). • Teamwork: You will be part of a close-knit team.

The schedules:
