Job description

The non-profit organisation Un Toit à Soi (UTAS) is approved and subsidised by COCOM, the joint community commission of the Brussels Capital Region. The objectives of these services are to allow access, settlement and maintenance in housing for former homeless people. To this end, UTAS offers beneficiaries personalised psycho-social support according to the needs of the beneficiary.

The UTAS association is an integral part of the Les Petits Riens group, which develops social economy activities such as the collection, sorting and sale of second-hand objects, as well as social actions such as housing homeless people in shelters and socio-professional integration.

The UTAS team consists of 7 social workers, an administrative and accounting employee, a worker and a director.

We are actively recruiting a Social Worker h.f.x for a permanent contract.  

Mission

Under the supervision of the director of UTAS, you will provide comprehensive psycho-social support, mainly at home, to people who have, among other things, left a homeless situation.

Tasks 

  • To offer beneficiaries a follow-up of the daily administrative, legal and budgetary procedures

  • Setting up collaborations with Brussels actors in housing, health and personal assistance

  • Supporting beneficiaries in compliance with ethics and professional secrecy

  • Participate in team meetings and provide a weekly reception and telephone service

  • Participate in the administrative and logistical management of the service

  • Ensure administrative work to follow up on files (encoding and writing)

Profile

  • Must be in the ACS conditions

  • You have a professional bachelor's degree with a social orientation (social worker, special needs educator or equivalent, etc.)

  • You have experience in supporting people in great precariousness (accommodation-housing and/or mental health and/or drug addiction)

  • You know how to work independently while being a team player

  • You demonstrate active listening, empathy and adaptation skills

  • You are fluent in French (written and oral). Knowledge of other languages is also a significant added value

  • You are proficient in the computer tools of the Office suite
