A Nurse (m/f/x)

For a full-time or part-time permanent contract (80%)

Why are we hiring?

Within our Iris Sud hospitals, we highlight the opportunity to develop and evolve by following training. On this occasion, several of our employees are taking part in the 600 project (= training project for nursing assistants or nurses specifically intended for workers in the public health sector). Therefore, we are recruiting 2 nurses to strengthen our T12 team.

What pathologies in T12?

Our T12 unit is an internal medicine unit that also includes a stroke unit in order to optimize the care of stroke patients. Patients, whether or not they have been treated with thrombolysis in the emergency department, are transferred to this specialized cerebrovascular unit. They benefit from reinforced continuous surveillance and specialized and adapted care.

As a stroke unit nurse, you will join a multidisciplinary team within our NVC (neuro-cardio-vascular) department. Currently, our stroke unit includes 4 beds equipped with monitors and a central parameter reading.

What does the job consist of?

As a nurse at T12, you provide general and specific nursing care. Some days you are assigned to the internal medicine side which includes 22 beds:

⦁ Provide care to the patient: technical nursing acts, monitoring of parameters, preparation of medication according to medical prescription, assisting the doctor, hygiene and comfort care, etc.

⦁ Ensure quality follow-up: record patient data, parameters and acts performed (e.g., the Di-RHM), participate in reports, participate in the tidying up and replenishment of the different areas of the unit, etc.

⦁ Informing, supporting and accompanying patients and their loved ones

Other days you are assigned to the stroke where you closely monitor stroke patients in order to restore or stabilize their health.

⦁ Accompany the patient throughout their care pathway: From their arrival to their discharge from the stroke, including support during the various examinations (CT scan, thrombolysis, etc.).

⦁ Provide specific care to the patient (in addition to traditional care): taking parameters every quarter of an hour during the first few hours, carrying out neurological score assessments, etc

⦁ The unit is composed of 18 nurses, 3 nursing assistants, 1 logistics assistant and 1 admin.

⦁ You will work at the Etterbeek-Ixelles site in Ixelles

⦁ You are in possession of a Bachelor's degree in nursing stamped and registered by the Brabant Medical Commission.

⦁ You have your stroke training or you commit to it.

Your experiences and knowledge

⦁ You already have experience or are you looking for a first or new experience

⦁ Experience in neurology or cardiology is an asset.

⦁ You have a good knowledge of Dutch: You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues

Your skills

⦁ You are able to remain calm even during critical situations. Keeping a cool head allows you to act effectively and prioritize quickly without losing quality of care or communication.

⦁ You know how to manage your time and priorities in order to ensure optimal patient follow-up.

⦁ You are able to analyze, propose and collaborate actively. The exchange of ideas, listening and co-construction are an integral part of the daily life of the T12.

⦁ Working time: 100% (38 hours/week) or 80% (30 hours 24 hours/week)

⦁ Opening hours: Between 7 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. For the stroke, day from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The night shift is made up of 2 permanent nurses.

Remuneration on the basis of the IFIC scales (50% category 14 and 50% category 15), with seniority taken over:

⦁ Min: 3710,01€ (index: 2,1223)

⦁ Max: €5908.38 (index 2.1223)
