Job description

Within Smart, the Human Resources Department (HRD) aims to contribute to the company's sustainability by developing a human resources policy intended for all Smart employees (members and support team) without discrimination regarding the duration of their employment contracts. 

Its mission is therefore to guarantee that human resources services and actions comply with legal requirements and are consistent with the cooperative's values, while developing and controlling processes adapted to its current and future needs. 

To support its activities, the HRD is looking for a Payroll Manager.  

Job Description 

Reporting to the Human Resources Director and within a team of four, you will play a key role in the reliable and efficient management of processes related to compensation and personnel administration at Smart, and contribute to the satisfaction of all our workers. 

Specifically, you will be required to: 

  • Manage payroll from A to Z: collect and check variable data, calculate salaries, deductions and social contributions, and ensure the follow-up of pay slips. 

  • Ensure personnel administration: manage arrivals and departures, absences, contracts and amendments, working time adjustments as well as standard certificates. 

  • Manage employee benefits and ensure their proper integration into payroll processes. 

  • Support employees by answering their questions related to payroll, benefits and individual situations. 

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, payroll tools and personnel administration. 

  • Participate in HR projects and develop HR policies by bringing your expertise. 

  • Contribute to HR communication and the smooth flow of information related to personnel administration. 

  • Occasionally welcome and guide the public visiting our shared spaces. 

Profile

  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar function. 

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. 

  • Proficiency in one of the two national languages (FR/NL) and knowledge of the other language (B1 level) is required. Proficiency in English is an asset. 

  • You have in-depth knowledge of social legislation and payroll processing.  

  • You demonstrate regular use of IT tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Office 365 applications.  

  • Your personal qualities: thoroughness, organization, adaptability, communication, autonomy, team spirit, curiosity, integrity and a sense of confidentiality. 

Job Working Conditions  

A function mainly performed on a computer in an office environment, requiring periods of sustained concentration, the simultaneous management of multiple files, and compliance with procedures and deadlines. It involves processing personal and confidential information as well as regular exchanges with various people, both orally and in writing, and may involve managing individual situations requiring listening, discretion and discernment. Occasional travel to Smart's various sites is to be expected.

Conduct of interviews

  • A telephone screening

  • Follow-up of psychotechnical tests

  • Following these tests, an interview with the recruitment department and the service manager
