Legal Counsel - Early Childhood

Permanent
Brussels, Mons, Liège

Job description

Within Partenamut, the Early Childhood team ensures the creation, development, and management of non-profit childcare activities. In a context of creating new NPOs and taking over existing structures, it is looking for a Legal Counsel who combines legal expertise with concrete decision-making support.

As the team's legal reference point, you will act both as an internal advisor to the Early Childhood team and as direct support to childcare facilities when needed. You will guarantee compliance, management of legal risks, and support legal operations related to takeovers and the creation of NPOs.

You will act as a bridge between the operational reality of childcare facilities and the legal and regulatory requirements of the sector, working in close collaboration with the HR teams, the members of the Early Childhood team, operational managers, and external advisors.

On a daily basis:

Legal advice, compliance, and management

  • You are the legal reference point for the Early Childhood team and the supported NPOs: you provide opinions and advice, secure decisions, alert on risks, and ensure the compliance of the activity.

  • You monitor the application of rights and obligations, manage relationships with third parties and external advisors, and defend interests in the event of disputes or legal proceedings.

  • You make the law accessible and operational: you simplify complex subjects and translate obligations into concrete recommendations for the field.

Contracts, subsidies, and procurement

  • You draft, review, and validate contracts, agreements, regulations, and other legal documents while assessing the associated risks.

  • You secure the legal aspects related to subsidies and procurement: conditions set by subsidizing authorities, financing agreements, and associated commitments.

Labor law

  • You ensure legal monitoring in labor law, particularly within Joint Committee 332, and anticipate its impacts.

  • You advise the Early Childhood team and the NPOs on working conditions, staff status, and applicable collective agreements.

  • You support the HR teams in managing individual and collective files, including sensitive situations and social dialogue bodies (Works Council and Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work).

NPO law, takeovers, and creations

  • You secure the governance of NPOs: statutes, operation of bodies, and legal obligations.

  • You analyze the legal implications of takeovers: transfer of personnel, takeover of contracts, and social obligations.

  • You secure the legal integration of taken-over structures and the creation of new NPOs, and draft the associated agreements, protocols, and legal documents.

Profile

Mandatory criteria:

  • You hold a Master's degree in Law and have a proven experience of at least 5 years in a legal function.

  • You have a strong command of labor law (working conditions, collective agreements, individual and collective files).

Your profile as a Legal Counsel:

  • You are analytical, rigorous, and autonomous, with a genuine practical sense.

  • You know how to simplify complex legal matters and communicate clearly with non-legal stakeholders.

  • You demonstrate discretion, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.

  • A specialization in social law or additional training in social law and/or NPO law is an asset.

  • You have a good knowledge of NPO law; experience with takeovers, mergers, or restructurings is a real asset.

  • You have a good knowledge of contract law as well as issues related to GDPR and data protection.

  • You express yourself perfectly in French; knowledge of Dutch is an asset.

Why apply?

  • A full-time open-ended contract with flexible working hours and the possibility of teleworking up to 3 days a week.

  • An exciting function with real future prospects in a fast-growing company.

  • Comprehensive training in the mutual insurance sector upon your arrival and regular training throughout your career.

  • An attractive salary accompanied by numerous extra-legal benefits that can be tailored to your needs.

  • Up to 46 days of leave per year.
