Job description

What the job consists of
As an occupational therapist, you play a central role in the care of patients who are experiencing difficulties in their daily activities. You contribute to their well-being and autonomy by offering personalized therapeutic support and interventions adapted to their needs.
You are responsible for:
· Assess cognitive and physical abilities through observation, anamnesis and targeted tests;
· Evaluate lifestyle habits (meals, dressing, washing, etc.) and define patients' disability situations;
· Establish an occupational therapy diagnosis and design an individualized care program;
· Implement individual or collective therapeutic activities that promote the maintenance or recovery of physical, cognitive and sensorimotor capacities;
· To support and advise patients and their relatives in the context of the care project, the life project or the return home;
· To offer adaptations or technical aids to facilitate autonomy on a daily basis;
· Ensure administrative follow-up and actively participate in multidisciplinary meetings in order to guarantee continuity and quality of care.
Through these missions, you contribute to promoting the health, well-being and social participation of patients in their living environment.
Your manager, your team and your environment:
· You will be supervised by Océane Renaux, head of occupational therapists,
· You will work in the geriatric unit on the Molière Longchamps site,
· You will work with another occupational therapist in this unit but you will join a multidisciplinary team of 7 occupational therapists as well as nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, doctors, etc
· You will have the opportunity to broaden your skills by discovering other services, in particular in the context of replacing colleagues in the rehabilitation units.

Your training:
· You hold a bachelor's degree (diploma) in occupational therapy.
Your experience and knowledge:
· A first experience in geriatrics is an asset but young graduates are welcome.
· You have a good knowledge of Dutch: You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues
Your skills:
· You are dynamic and show a real spirit of initiative in your practice.
· You work independently, while enjoying collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
· You communicate clearly and appropriately, both orally and in writing.
· You are an active listener and have great empathy for patients and their loved ones.
· You act with discretion, respect and a sense of confidentiality in all your interventions.
We offer you:
⦁ Type of contract: CDR (duration of approximately 4 and a half months)
⦁ Working time: full-time = 38 hours/week from Monday to Friday
⦁ Hours: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
