For the Care Department and the Operating Quarters & Sterilization Department,

A Head of Department Nurse (m/f/x)

On a full-time permanent contract

 

Our Surgical Wards division is one of the essential pillars of our hospital, reflecting our commitment to excellence and innovation in healthcare. As Head Nurse, your mission will be to supervise the Head Nurses of our 3 operating rooms and the sterilization department as well as to organize patient care in order to optimize the quality of care in the different units.

What does the job consist of?

Under the responsibility of the Director of Care, you will be required to:

- Ensure the quality of care in the units

- Supervise and support the head nurses in the organization of time schedules, ensuring compliance with social legislation, internal rules and the budget

- Ensure continuity of care by adjusting staffing levels and implementing necessary adaptations

- Contribute to the analysis and preparation of budget needs and ensure a guard role to guarantee managerial continuity

- Participate in the preparatory phase of developing budget needs and analyze useful data (Payroll, activity grid, DMS, ...)

 - Ensure the coordination and quality of care in its units

- Support the CIs in monitoring the quality of care according to the standards in force (identification

relevant indicators, construction of dashboards, definition of objectives per unit)

- Propose the necessary corrective actions relating to the operation of its units (commissary, sterile pharmacy equipment, medicines, depreciation, linen, etc.) and ensure that they are carried out, in collaboration with the ICs

- Participate in and/or manage institutional projects in line with the strategic map of the care department, ensure their follow-up and deployment in the field in collaboration with the CIs

- At the request of the Director and/or the Deputy, analyze, investigate, write a report

- Ensure the transversal coordination of the units for which you are responsible

- Actively collaborate with cross-functional expertise functions (e.g. training, ICANES integration, PCI, etc.) to ensure the implementation of objectives in your division

- Develop expertise and fulfill the role of frame of reference

- Contribute to interprofessional collaboration within units

 - Manage your teams

- Supervise, motivate, evaluate, detect training needs and support the head nurses in tasks related to team management

- Liaise and communicate information and decisions between the care management, the head nurses

- Participate in the recruitment of head nurses and nurses as well as in the integration process of new recruits

- Contribute to and participate in the development of projects

- Represent the care department

- Promote collaboration and mobilize the necessary expertise

- Participate with the Care Department, hospital committees and the representation of the institution to external partners

- Also ensure the first-level management of complaints, in support of the head nurses and in coordination with the appropriate mechanisms

- Ensure the administrative management of personnel by managing the monitoring of the workforce via the dashboards, by supporting the CIs in their use and updating

How about we talk about you?

Your education:

- You are in possession of a Bachelor's degree (or Diploma) in nursing, stamped and registered by the Medical Commission of Brabant

- You have a university degree related to health care (e.g. Public Health Sciences, Management of Health and Care Institutions). Candidates who have successfully completed the first year of the Master's degree can also apply

 Your experience and knowledge:

-You have at least five years of experience in team management and project management in a hospital environment

- A good knowledge of hospital legislation is an asset

- You have a first experience or sensitivity to Change Management

- You have a good knowledge of Dutch

 Your skills:

- You are able to ensure efficient and responsible management of resources (human, financial and material), taking into account budgetary constraints, operational priorities and quality requirements specific to the hospital sector

- You enjoy optimizing processes and continuously looking for more efficient solutions

- Recognized for your managerial qualities, you support, inspire and motivate your teams

- Your ability to make decisions and find solutions makes you an ideal candidate

- You are change-oriented and manage change processes effectively

- You master negotiation tools and have a sense of diplomacy, especially to manage conflicts

- You have a good command of Excel and an effective writing ability, allowing you to produce clear and structured documents

- You are known for your interpersonal skills and demonstrate excellent communication skills

- Available, adaptable to priorities and strong organizational skills

- You demonstrate geographical flexibility allowing you to be present with your teams on the sites of Etterbeek-Ixelles, Molière Longchamp (Forest), Joseph Bracops (Anderlecht), as well as on the Baron Lambert site (Etterbeek) for the meetings of the Management Committee

- Your stress management allows you to remain calm and operational in all situations, while reassuring and supporting your teams

Remuneration on the basis of the IFIC scales (category 19), with resumption of seniority:

·      Min: €5013.34 (index: 2.1233)

·      Max : 7697,44 € (index 2.1233)
