Job description

A Deputy Head Nurse (m/f/x)
On a permanent contract, full-time or part-time (80%)
What does the job consist of?
As a Deputy Head Nurse, you support the Head Nurse in the day-to-day management of the emergency department and actively contribute to its smooth operation.
As a field professional, you will participate in the overall and qualitative care of patients, in a demanding and constantly changing environment.
In close collaboration with the head nurse, you play a key role in the management of the team. You support, unite and motivate employees thanks to your sense of collaboration, your ability to adapt and your active listening. As a source of proposals, you take initiatives aimed at improving the organisation and quality of care within the unit.
You will contribute to the integration of new team members and the supervision of students, in collaboration with the referring nurse and ICANES. You will be involved in the management of complex situations and conflicts, demonstrating composure and interpersonal skills.
In the absence of the head nurse, you ensure the continuity of the department's activity: work organisation, staff distribution and team coordination.
Your main responsibilities
· Coach and motivate team members, while identifying their training needs
· Ensuring the coordination and quality of care provided within the emergency unit
· Actively participate in the operational organization of the department
· Be available and flexible in terms of schedules, in line with the requirements of the emergency department

· You will work in collaboration with Tangi Le Houérou, head nurse.
· You will join a team of about 20 people made up of nurses and reception agents
· You will reach the emergency department of our Molière Longchamp site located at Rue Marconi 142 in Forest.

Your education
· You hold a Bachelor's degree in nursing, approved and registered by the Medical Commission of Brabant.
· You are a SIAMU specialist.
Your experiences and knowledge
· You have at least 5 years of experience as a nurse and you are looking for a new challenge.
· You have a good knowledge of Dutch: You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues
Your skills
· Team spirit and a strong sense of collaboration: You promote a collaborative and constructive work climate within the unit. You will work in close collaboration with the head nurse and the multidisciplinary teams. You will participate in the working group aimed at improving the coordination and quality of care.
· Ability to adapt and master complex and stressful situations: You will work with ease in a demanding environment such as the emergency department. You demonstrate composure, discernment and responsiveness in the face of unforeseen situations, peaks in activity and conflict situations.
· Excellent communication skills: You communicate in a clear, structured and professional manner, both orally and in writing. You ensure effective upward and downward communication. You are able to handle complaints diplomatically, defuse tensions, and write professional reports and documents with rigor.
· Active listening and human support: Attentive to patients, their families and your colleagues, you demonstrate a great ability to listen and empathize. You are also attentive to the needs, difficulties and development potentials of the team members.
· Determination, perseverance and initiative: You will make a lasting investment in improving the operation of the unit. In collaboration with the head nurse and the head nurse, you will initiate and manage projects aimed at improving the coordination, quality and safety of care.
The challenge of the position
· Following the closure of the ICU on the Molière site, the major challenge will be to evolve into a SUS (Specialized Emergency Care) type emergency department which now includes 3 continuous monitoring beds (CCU) and this by accompanying the change with the team in place.
