Job description

Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Bloum cooperative grocery store. You are responsible for the 4 versatile employees and a team of students es, and together you ensure the daily operation of the store.

Your missions:

  • Supervise, train and support multi-skilled employees and students;  

  • Supervision and support of the salaried team and students for the daily tasks of the store;

  • Responsible and supervising orders with the versatile team;

  • Responsible for the commercial strategy;

  • Reception and advice to cooperators/visitors in the philosophy of the project with the versatile team;

  • Responsible for the general communication of the grocery store (on social networks, in the media, through posters);

  • Monitoring of the register of shares and payment of contributions;

  • Foster collective intelligence;

  • Ensure, in operational and management choices, that the balance is maintained between the store's economic objectives and the social and civic objectives carried out by the cooperative;

  •  Participate in the development of the cooperative project in collaboration with the working groups, the Board of Directors and the cooperators;

  • Guarantee the quality of service and the proper maintenance of the store;

  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety and procedural standards;

  • Supervision and maintenance of general accounting with the external accounting office.

Profile

  • Good relationship with cooperators/visitors;

  • Interest in participatory approaches and democratic governance;  

  • qualities of listening, dialogue, creativity and cordiality. 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the management of a store (preferably in the food industry) of at least 2 years;

  • Strong computer skills (knowledge of Odoo software is an asset);

  • Ease in human resources and accounting;

  • Communication and networking skills;

  • Knowledge of Dutch and English is an asset.
