Why we recruit
We are looking to strengthen our team following the retirement of an experienced laboratory technologist. You will play a critical role in performing critical analyses for the diagnosis and follow-up of patients in key sectors such as chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood banking and post-Corelab. Behind every analysis is the unique story of a patient who relies on your expertise.
What the job consists of
As a Laboratory Technologist at Corelab, your missions will include:
• Receive samples, identify them and reject those that are not compliant
• Perform analyses according to established protocols
• Technically validate the results by carrying out internal controls
• Reject non-conforming samples and restart tests that have not yielded valid results
• Encode results into the computer system
• Communicate urgent and pathological results to the relevant teams
• Calibrate devices, prepare reagents and charge them on board the devices
• Maintain laboratory equipment
• Perform internal and external quality controls
• Record external and internal complaints as well as malfunctions, errors and non-conformities
• Implement corrective actions
• Manage stocks and ensure batch traceability
• Prepare, receive, check and put away orders relating to your sector
• Participate in the evaluation of any new equipment or techniques that may be integrated into the laboratory
• Actively contribute to the laboratory's quality approach
• Train new team members on laboratory procedures and best practices
• Participate in the on-call role (weekends and holidays)
Your manager, your team and your environment
• Our laboratory consists of a main laboratory (Etterbeek-Ixelles) and two satellite laboratories (Joseph Bracops and Molière Longchamp). Our laboratory team currently consists of about sixty professionals (laboratory technologists, administrative assistants, coordinators and medical biologists). You will join a team of 30 laboratory technologists at Corelab
• You will work on the Etterbeek-Ixelles site, Joseph Bracops and Molière Longchamp
• Your manager will be Dr. Ingrid Beukinga
• You will be mentored by Rim Rzem (Technical Coordinator), as well as the entire team. Training will be provided by your expert colleagues in the various positions

What are the hours for this position?
• Variable hours: Monday to Friday, between 7 am and 9 pm, with a maximum of 2 nights every 2 months (from 8 pm to 8 am).
• Childcare: 1 weekend per month, with on-call hours on Saturday (between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.) and Sunday (between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.), the days not necessarily being consecutive
• Public holidays: included in the on-call hours
Let's talk about you
Your education
• You have a Bachelor's degree in Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Biochemistry or Clinical Biology
• You are certified as a medical technologist
Your experiences and knowledge
• Whether you are a recent graduate laboratory technologist or already have experience, we are interested in your application. A complete training on the different sectors of the Corelab awaits you in our laboratory
• You have a good knowledge of Dutch
Your skills
• Rigor and precision: You work with meticulousness and attention to detail
• Organization and priority management: When faced with a large sample flow, you are able to organize your work by identifying urgent analyses and optimizing your time, allowing you to meet deadlines and respond effectively to clinical needs
• Critical Analysis: Your analytical mind allows you to examine results with discernment, verify their consistency, and report any anomalies, thus contributing to the reliability and relevance of the laboratory's diagnoses.

Remuneration on the basis of the IFIC scales (category 14), with resumption of seniority:
• Min: €3313.66 (index: 2.1223)
• Max: €5234.62 (index 2.1223)
