Job description

Who are we

Pastoo is a unique pooling of projects in Belgium, structured around several non-profit organisations and cooperative societies active in the production and organisation of festivals,  shows and cultural projects. 

The federation now brings together, around the non-profit organisation Pastoo , which pools support functions and human resources: 

  • Several operational non-profit organisations that carry out major events, shows and cultural projects (Namur en MaiLaSemo, Magic Cabaret, Eventchange, etc.), 

  • Cooperatives dedicated to production (in particular via the Tax Shelter) and logistics. 

These entities work closely together to produce large-scale cultural projects, combining artistic standards, public impact and hybrid economic models (subsidies, ticketing, Tax Shelter, partnerships, etc.).  These projects welcome more than 250,000 spectators each year.

In a context of growth and structuring, Pastoo is strengthening its financial governance and its management committee. 

Your role 

As CFO, you are at the heart of the system. 

You will work as a

  • Strategic partner, capable of structuring, securing and optimizing the financial, accounting and tax dimensions of a complex  multi-entity ecosystem

  • "Hands-on" operation , close to the teams and the realities on the ground (festivals, productions, cash management), 

You play a key role in: 

  • the financial management of the federation and its members, 

  •  strategic decision-making, 

  • and the coordination, transparency and optimization of financial flows , the monitoring of tax obligations , VAT, etc. as well as those relating to the respect of the associated deadlines. 

As a member of the Management Committee (CODIR), you will work directly with the CEO, the COO and the Boards of Directors concerned, in an environment where governance and transparency are essential. 

Your responsibilities 

Your main responsibilities are as follows: 

1. Global financial management (multi-entity) 

You ensure the consistency and quality of the management and financial information of the entire federation :

  • Supervision of the general accounting of the various structures (non-profit organisations and cooperatives), 

  • Management of complex flows (ticketing, cashless, partnerships, subsidies), 

  • Management of VAT returns (monthly, multi-activity), 

  • Structuring and monitoring of flows between members (services,  agreements, reconciliations), 

  • Securing the processes that organize and support the business  

2. Management control and economic vision

You structure a relevant analytical reading of the activity: 

  • Implementation and monitoring of budgets by project / event / entity, 

  • Support for operational teams in financial management, 

  • Post-project analysis (results, gaps, lessons), 

  • Clear and actionable reporting for the Executive Committee and the Boards of Directors. 

3. Treasury & Financing 

In an environment with strong seasonality: 

  • Fine-grained cash flow management (forecast and actual), 

  • Management of financing needs, 

  • Supervision of flows during events (including with teams of volunteers), 

  • Optimization of cash management. 

4. Subsidies, Tax Shelter & Financial Structuring

Together with the person in charge of subsidies, you are a key player in structuring and securing funding: 

  • Monitoring and justification of public subsidies, 

  • Support in the preparation of financing files, 

  • Support for the Tax Shelter scheme for performing arts productions, 

  • Reflection on the economic models of new projects. 

5. Governance & Legal Framework

You actively contribute to good governance: 

  • Preparation of financial reports for the Boards of Directors and General Meetings, 

  • Participation in the drafting of resolutions, 

  • Securing practices with regard to the Companies and Associations Code, VAT and Belgian taxation, 

  • Implementation of robust and auditable processes. 

6. Tools & Structuring (Odoo) 

You are the financial referent of the ERP: 

  • Structuring of analytical dimensions, 

  • Continuous process improvement , 

  • Training of teams, 

  • Continued digital transformation of the finance function. 

  • With the support of your team (1 to 2 people internally), the accounting office, the social secretariat and our legal and tax advisors , you will also supervise the administrative management of human resources, the corporate secretariat and real estate.  

 A role with high strategic value

In addition to operations, you are expected to: 

  • The organisation and control of flows between the members of the federation (compliance with conventions, VAT, taxation, internal pricing ), 

  • Involvement in the legal, financial and administrative structuring of new projects, 

  • The search for a sustainable balance between cultural and sustainable impact and economic viability. 

Profile

Your profile 

  • Higher education in finance, accounting or management 

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a multi-entity/multi-activity environment

  • Solid knowledge of general and analytical accounting

  • Experience in ERP implementation and change management

  • Good understanding of VAT, subsidies and financial structuring issues

  • Knowledge and good command of Odoo is a major asset

Experience in the cultural, event or non-profit sector is a plus, but not essential.
