Iris Sud Hospitals (HIS) is actively looking for a Medical Leader to support them and take on the dual mission of Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer (m/f/x)
Your dual mission: Strategic leader and guarantor of excellence
As Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer of the 4 HIS sites, you are the pillar of the medical strategy and the guarantor of excellence and continuity of care. You will coordinate, organise and integrate the medical department of the 4 sites, in close collaboration with the various partners and reporting directly to the General Management.
In addition, you will also be an active member of the College of the Medical Direction (CODIM) within the HIS-CHU Saint-Pierre -H.U.B. group. As an active member of this college, you will be the representative of HIS but you will also have a transversal function for the entire group. You will be responsible for supporting certain services (still to be determined) for the entire group.
1. Leadership and Strategy (Medical Director)
- Participate in the development of the strategic plan of the hospital and the group, respect it, defend it and commit to implementing the medical decisions taken within the various bodies.
- Represent HIS within the future CODIM.
- Define and conduct the medical plan, ensure its operational implementation within the framework of the strategic plan and grouping.
- Coordinate and control the activities of the different departments and sites. As such, you must be informed of all decisions concerning the medical sphere of the hospital.
- Assume operational and budgetary responsibilities in the field of medical activity, ensuring that the activity budget of the various departments is realized.
- Federate, motivate, challenge, supervise and coach department heads in the missions assigned by their mandate.
- To stimulate medical activities of a scientific nature, taking into account the possibilities of the hospital.
2. Quality and Governance (Chief Medical Officer)
- To assume the missions and responsibilities as defined by the Act.
- Represent HIS within the future CODIM and ensure the development and compliance of the medical policy, as well as the harmonization of care missions.
- To ensure the continuous improvement of the quality of medical activity,
- Guarantee the opening of a reliable medical record for each patient, be responsible for the EMR and guarantee secure access to medical data.
- To ensure relations with the Council of the Order and to guarantee compliance with general regulations, the law and medical ethics.
- To guarantee the creation, improvement and use of science-based care pathways, while simultaneously improving operational and financial performance.
3. Communication and Relationships
- Emphasize cross-functional communication in order to promote team spirit and mutual collaboration between all disciplines (medical profession, nursing department, paramedical, pharmacy, manager, ethics committee, etc.) within HIS and the group.
- Ensure the development of the on-call role, the follow-up of disciplinary or termination of collaboration files and handle complaints concerning medical practice.
- Organize, in collaboration with the nursing department, coordination between doctors and nurses, with the aim of improving the care and care provided to the patient.
- Represent and position HIS in its medical dimension vis-à-vis external partners (neighbouring hospitals, general practitioners, nursing homes, etc.), in a pluralistic, multicultural and open spirit.
- Participate in decision-making bodies and consultation committees with the medical profession (as a guest).
To be eligible for this position, you must meet and agree to the following conditions:

- Education and experience
- You hold the degree of Doctor of Medicine, Surgery and Childbirth.
- Additional training in management, hospital management, or public health is a real asset.
- You have years of experience useful to the position and deemed satisfactory by the hospital's Medical Management Commission.
- You have in-depth knowledge of management and have demonstrated your ability to manage teams.
- Ideally, you will work 10/10ths (to be discussed; maintaining a reduced clinical activity may be considered).
- You are a single hospital / single group.

- You have a good understanding of the challenges of information technology and are familiar with management tools.

- Languages
- You have a perfect command of one of the national languages (French or Dutch) and a good knowledge of the second language.
