Join us as an intercultural mediator and help strengthen understanding, trust, and quality of care every day.
At the heart of the care pathway, you facilitate communication between Arabic-speaking patients and French-speaking healthcare professionals. Through your intervention, you foster a better mutual understanding of each person's situations, expectations, and cultural realities.
Your role involves in particular:
- providing interpretation between patients and healthcare professionals during consultations, hospital stays, or via videoconference;
- facilitating exchanges and supporting patients as well as care teams in their mutual understanding;
- identifying and clarifying cultural or linguistic aspects likely to influence care management;
- supporting patients and professionals in understanding their respective roles;
intervening in situations of misunderstandings or tensions related to care; - raising awareness among hospital teams about the cultural realities of the Middle East;
- participating in the development of the intercultural mediation project via videoconference in collaboration with the social service.

Profile
Required qualifications and experience
- You hold a higher secondary education diploma supplemented by a recognized certificate in intercultural mediation, or a bachelor's/master's degree in social work, paramedical field, nursing, midwifery, or interpretation.
- You have several years of experience in a hospital environment or a primary care structure.
- You have a strong command of spoken and written French as well as spoken Arabic (minimum B2 level).
- You have basic knowledge of medical terminology and social interpretation.
Essential skills
- You facilitate communication between patients and healthcare professionals while taking linguistic and cultural dimensions into account.
- You are able to manage misunderstandings, cultural differences, and tense situations with listening skills, empathy, and professionalism.
- You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team and adopt a stance based on respect, neutrality, and deontology.
- You are curious, adaptable, and committed to a process of continuous learning.
Additional assets
- Experience in intercultural mediation in a hospital environment.
- Significant knowledge of the Middle East (personal, associative, or professional background).
- Proficiency in a third language.
