As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and optimization of database management systems within the company. Your main responsibilities will include:
Database 🧩 design
- Participate in the design and modeling of databases in collaboration with development teams.
- Develop database schemas that are efficient, standardized and responsive to application needs.
Implementation and maintenance ⚙️
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS), such as MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
- Ensure the availability, security, and integrity of data stored in databases.
Performance 🚦 optimization
- Monitor database performance and implement adjustments to ensure prompt response to queries.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries and improve overall system performance.
Data 🔐 Security
- Implement robust security mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
- Manage database access rights and ensure compliance with security standards.
Backup and recovery 💾
- Develop effective backup strategies and ensure data recovery in the event of a disaster.
- Regularly test backup and recovery procedures.
Documentation 📚
- Maintain complete database documentation, including structure, stored procedures, and configurations.
- Train users and team members on the effective use of databases

Profile
🎓 Qualifications and experience required
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- Demonstrated experience in database administration
- In-depth knowledge of MS-SQL: writing SQL queries, optimizing performance, migrating data, managing scheduled tasks
- Good knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Basic skills in managing servers (Windows and Linux), hypervisors (vmWare, XenServer), and storage devices
- Ability to actively and effectively participate in an English conversation
- Availability to provide on-call and on-call roles
