Data Scientist
Job description
As a Data Scientist, you transform data and AI technologies into concrete, useful, and responsible solutions to address the company's business challenges.
You design and develop Data & AI solutions that meet concrete business needs, leveraging structured and unstructured data as well as technologies such as Machine Learning, LLMs, RAG, document comprehension, and AI agents.
You transform experiments into operational solutions by assessing their quality, reliability, and business value, and by making them robust, maintainable, and scalable.
You work closely with product and data teams—Product Owners, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, RPA developers, and other experts—to translate business problems into effective Data & AI solutions.
You collaborate with architecture, DevOps, security, privacy, and business teams to ensure responsible and effective deployment with appropriate levels of security, compliance, monitoring, and human oversight.
You contribute to the development of reusable AI capabilities and promote best engineering practices: evaluation and testing, MLOps/LLMOps, observability, software engineering, documentation, and CI/CD.
You explore new AI technologies and capabilities, identify those that can genuinely create value, and transform relevant opportunities into concrete experiments and solutions.
You share your knowledge and challenge ideas, actively contributing to a collaborative team culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
You evolve within a multidisciplinary team where expertise, curiosity, and the desire to build useful solutions matter just as much as technology—ideally alongside some conversations that have absolutely nothing to do with AI.
Profile
You hold a Master’s degree or a PhD, ideally in computer science, mathematics, data science, or a related field. You combine a strong analytical mindset with a genuine interest in data, software, and AI.
You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in designing and developing Data & AI solutions, ideally as a Data Scientist, ML Engineer, or AI Engineer. Specifically, you have worked with unstructured data (texts, documents, images) and used LLMs to address concrete business issues.
You master the fundamentals of Machine Learning and AI and know how to choose the most relevant approach depending on the problem: traditional Machine Learning, generative AI, or simpler solutions.
You are comfortable with modern generative AI approaches, including prompt engineering, RAG, structured outputs, tool usage, and agentic workflows. Experience in evaluation, guardrails, human-in-the-loop, or LLMOps is an asset.
You are proficient in Python and capable of developing production-ready solutions beyond a simple prototype. You have experience deploying and operating AI workloads on AWS. Knowledge of SQL, APIs, CI/CD, and cloud-native development is a plus.
You are attentive to the quality and reliability of solutions: you know how to assess whether an AI solution actually works, test it, monitor it, and improve it over time.
You are autonomous, proactive, and collaborative, and you enjoy working with a variety of profiles: Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Product Owners, architects, business experts, and other technical profiles. You know how to challenge an approach and propose relevant alternatives.
You are pragmatic, curious, and able to take a step back from AI: you know how to distinguish genuinely useful innovations from mere hype and explain complex technical concepts in a clear and accessible way. You have a professional command of French and English; Dutch is an asset. You do not necessarily need to check every box: if you learn quickly, have solid fundamentals, and possess the right mindset, we will be delighted to speak with you.
