Data Architect

As a Data Architect, you are the bridge between technology and business. You play a key role in developing a reliable, future-proof, and secure data platform. You combine technical depth with a strong affinity for governance, translating complex data questions into concrete solutions for various stakeholders. In doing so, you contribute to a data strategy that is not only high-performing, but also sustainable and compliant.

Responsibilities

Governance mindset: you actively participate in shaping our overall data architecture

• You actively work on the roadmap of our data platform; you closely follow technological developments and translate them into concrete improvements.

• You co-create the data governance policy: you develop processes around data quality, data retention, and data classification.

• You constantly factor security into every element of the data process, following a "security first" mindset.

Daily activities: design and implement scalable BI solutions (from analysis to delivery)

• You analyze, process, and connect various data sources.

• You design and implement database models according to the Kimball methodology.

• You develop and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL) and automate workflows wherever possible.

Expertise

• You hold at least a bachelor's degree.

• You have at least 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on the Microsoft landscape.

• You are a Dutch speaker with a strong knowledge of French (knowledge of English is not mandatory, but is a plus).

• You are familiar with: 

  • Standard ETL principles & processes (e.g., star schemas); 

  • Data components within the Azure landscape (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, ...); 

  • Programming languages such as SQL, DAX, and Python; 

  • Standard CI/CD principles (e.g., DevOps & GIT). 

• Not a must, but a plus: 

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric; 

  • Experience in building reports (e.g., via Power BI).
