Job description

Smart is leading the EMPLOYMENT GOAL GEMBLOUX – Territory of Repair through the Social Economy. This project aims to create tailor-made jobs for people living in Gembloux Centre who have been unemployed for at least 2 years. The jobs created must be innovative, useful for the Gembloux area and its population and not compete with existing jobs.

The project started in 2023 and ends on December 31, 2026.

Under the responsibility of the Development Director, the worker will join the project's core team, which is currently composed of 4 people: 2 coordinators, a social worker and an administrative assistant.

The mission of the DIY-REPAIR Technical Referent is to supervise and provide technical support to the target audience by working within the DIY-REPAIR service developed as part of the "Repair territory through the TRES social economy" project.

With a double hat, they combine technical skills related to the small jobs to be carried out at the customers' premises with teaching skills and professional support for workers as well as quality monitoring of the work carried out.

These will include :

   1. Supervise employees in integration in the DIY and troubleshooting service:

  • To welcome and train these employees in order to (re)integrate them into sustainable employment. To support them and follow their journey which aims to obtain the skills that will allow them to enter the traditional job market

  • To share technical skills and promote the learning of professional/socio-cultural codes, to transmit the know-how and interpersonal skills necessary for the proper execution of tasks

  • Supervise employees to ensure the proper execution of the work and customer satisfaction

  • Evaluate the professional skills of employees acquired throughout their career and offer them areas for development, guidance or training.

  2. Ensure the monitoring of construction sites and the management of materials

  • Organize all the activities of the DIY and troubleshooting department on the basis of employee schedules and customer requests

  • Estimate the time required to complete the work in order to establish quotes for customers

  • Advising customers and providing them with technical solutions to troubleshoot them

  • In collaboration with the project team, participate in the administrative management of the service (quotes, invoicing, etc.)

  • Depending on the site, order the materials and/or tools necessary for the proper execution of the work

  • Ensuring safety regulations

Profile

  • You have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position

  • You have experience in small DIY jobs in electricity, carpentry, plumbing, upholstery, painting, exterior maintenance, etc.

  • You have the BA4

  • You hold a B licence. Driving experience with a trailer is a plus

  • You are autonomous, self-starter, and have decision-making skills

  • You are rigorous, methodical and have an eye for detail

  • You have the qualities required to support a public in difficulty: empathy, listening skills, taking a step back

  • You have developed interpersonal skills

  • You are  pedagogical, attentive and organized

  • You are proficient in office tools such as Word, Outlook, Excel,...

  • You are discreet and confidential

  • Mastery of Smart tools is a plus
