Account Manager Operations

We are looking for a dynamic  Account Manager Operations , who will build sustainable  relationships with intermunicipal waste management companies and private waste management operators, manage contracts and organise market consultations  in order to work together for efficient and high-quality collection and recycling of PMDs, paper, cardboard and glass.  

Your mission:

• You build a long-term relationship of trust with various contacts in your client portfolio. These customers are on the one hand the Flemish intermunicipal waste collection companies and the private collection and recycling companies on the other.

• You will manage the contracts between Fost Plus and 7 Flemish intermunicipal companies. Your 7 fellow account managers in the team manage similar contracts with Flemish, Walloon and Brussels intermunicipal companies.

• You organize and evaluate market consultations for the collection of PMD, cardboard and glass with your intermunicipal companies that collaborate with private partners. With intermunicipal companies that collect themselves, you negotiate their costs. You are also responsible for budget monitoring, data monitoring and outreach.

• You will work closely with colleagues from other teams such as Quality & Control, Service Desk, Marketing & Communication and  Innovation. You also manage a number of general files related to selective collection.

• You have an eye for operational improvements and cost efficiency and strive to optimize the associated administrative tasks.

• You look after the interests and meet the needs of your operators and intermunicipal companies during various internal consultation times and topics, always with the aim of providing an optimal service.

• After a training period, you will coordinate one or more internal projects as a project manager (under the direction of the Project Management Officer) and you will be encouraged to take initiative within an ever-changing organization.

• You have a master's degree, preferably with an economic or technical background.

• You have at least 10 years of professional experience (preferably relevant), preferably in the waste sector.

• You speak Dutch, but you are also  proficient enough  in French  and  English for oral and written communication.

• You can work easily with Excel and you can easily find your way around digital applications such as reporting tools.

• You communicate fluently and clearly, both verbally and in writing, while demonstrating the necessary  diplomacy . You can also actively listen and create an open dialogue with your stakeholders, both external and internal.

• You can convince people by using relevant and decisive arguments to defend your point of view and you handle counter-arguments well.

• You work with precision and an analytical mind (regarding costs, revenues, materials and tonnages) and you have enough affinity with numbers to manage large budgets.

• You work in a result - and solution-oriented manner; You respond proactively ; You anticipate events and problems and make proposals to improve processes and procedures.

• You always act in a customer-oriented  manner and adapt your actions to the sensitivities, needs and wishes of your accounts, without losing sight of the goals of Fost Plus.
