Legal Advisor
Job description
As a Legal Advisor, you are responsible for the development, management and further professionalisation of the legal services within Fost Plus. You work autonomously, but always in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external lawyers. You act as a strategic partner for the organization and advise on complex legal files that are essential to our operation and governance.
You receive legal questions directly from internal clients and, where necessary, take on a coordinating or supervising role in high-impact cases. You negotiate and draft complex legal documents and represent Fost Plus in contacts with external parties. You report to the Legal Manager.
Your responsibilities:
Legal services & advice
Acting as a generalist lawyer with in-depth knowledge of environmental law and administrative law, supplemented if possible with a good knowledge of economic law
Designing, developing and delivering the legal services of Fost Plus, with the support of external lawyers.
Formulating independent legal advice on the interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures.
Handling complex or sensitive legal issues and supporting internal stakeholders in making informed decisions.
Contract and document management
Managing a portfolio of contracts and negotiating (complex) agreements.
Planning, coordinating and following up activities around important contracts.
Drafting, editing and aligning legal documents for various target groups, with an eye for context, tone of voice and needs.
Internal collaboration & business partnership
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal clients.
Acting as a fully-fledged business partner who thinks along with the organization and contributes to the realization of strategic objectives.
Coordinating internal and external legal resources where necessary.
Preparing the meeting of the relevant governing bodies
Budget follow-up
Follow-up of the legal budget and reporting deviations to management.
Profile
You have a master's degree in law, ideally with a specialisation in environmental law
You have at least 8 years of relevant work experience, built up in a business context and/or as a lawyer.
You are French-speaking and also have a good knowledge of Dutch
You feel comfortable in an autonomous position with a high degree of responsibility.
You can switch quickly in a changing context
You combine legal depth with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
You communicate clearly and know how to adapt your message to different target groups.
You build trust smoothly and enjoy working with various internal and external stakeholders.
