Background
Les Petits Riens is a social economy company active in the recovery, recovery and sale of second-hand goods in our network of 26 stores. We sort more than 8000 tons of textile and miscellaneous goods annually. These activities are also a platform for professional reintegration.
In the sorting workshops, we collaborate with people in professional reintegration and volunteers. Each workshop is made up of a team and a manager, and is distributed by theme: books, flea markets, small household appliances, large appliances, toys, corporate donations. The book sorting workshop is located in our sorting centre, rue de Zuen, in Anderlecht.
In addition to these social economy activities, Les Petits Riens also involves social actions implemented through accommodation and housing policies for the homeless, as well as psycho-medico-social follow-ups.
In this context, we are looking for a Book Valorist for a 6-month part-time fixed-term contract. 📚
⭐ Mission
In collaboration with the head of the book workshop, the recycler's mission is to identify among the book donations the books that can be revalued and put on sale in our stores or in auction houses.
👉 Your tasks
Management of arrivals, stocks and the general organization of book sorting, in collaboration with the workshop manager or in his absence
With a commercial eye, sort the books in order to best value the products: select, package the books and set the prices
Tracking store returns to improve service quality
Keeping up to date with new developments and developments in the book market
Handling of books (carrying crates, handling pallet trucks, etc.)
Maintaining general order of the shop floor
Profile
You are interested in the challenges of sustainable development, in particular the social and environmental impact of the activities of the second-hand sector
You have an upper secondary school certificate (or proven experience in the book industry)
You show interest and knowledge of literature
You have a social 💚 fibre
You communicate clearly and appropriately to each person
You have no contraindications to dust, nor do you have back problems
You have a good knowledge of the Office Suite and the Internet
Experience working in a bookstore is an asset 👌

Schedule to be decided with the team leader. The workshop is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
Salary set according to our internal scales
Group insurance (3% employee share and 6% employer share)
Hospitalisation insurance after one year of service
Meal vouchers of €8 per working day
Clothing allowance of €1.72 per day of service
1.5 days of extra-legal leave as part of this 6-month part-time contract
Reimbursement of home-work travel: public transport reimbursed at 100%; €0.35/km by bike or scooter; Sector flat rate in case of car use
