Job description

A Deputy Head Nurse (m/f/x)
On a permanent contract, full-time or part-time (80%)
What does the job consist of?
As a Deputy Head Nurse, your mission is to support the Head Nurse in some of his or her functions to ensure the smooth running of the unit.
In addition to being a hands-on person:
· You provide care to patients in geriatrics,
· You use the equipment and equipment specific to the service,
· You actively contribute to the quality and safety of care, in compliance with standards and good practices,
· You integrate the notion of Quality of Life into your approach to the elderly.
You will manage your team in collaboration with the head nurse:
· You support, inspire and motivate your team thanks to your developed sense of collaboration, your ability to adapt and to listen actively,
· You participate in continuous improvement by proposing and piloting concrete actions in the field,
· You accompany, support and develop the skills of your team;
· You promote a collaborative work climate, based on trust, accountability and communication;
· You participate in the integration of new members of your team,
· You supervise the students in collaboration with the referring nurse and ICANES,
· You manage conflict through your ability to handle difficult and stressful situations.
When the head nurse is absent, you are also in charge of organising the team:
· You ensure the continuity and organisation of care, adapting resources to the needs of the unit;
· You coordinate the overall care of patients, from admission to discharge, in close collaboration with doctors and multidisciplinary teams;

· You work in a dynamic geriatric unit, where the human approach, quality of care and teamwork are essential.
· You work closely with Sylvie Berghmans, head nurse, and your team of 18 people.
· Unit F21 is located at our Joseph Bracops site and has 24 beds.
How about we talk about you?
Your education
· You are in possession of a Bachelor's degree or a certificate in nursing (graduat) stamped and registered by the Medical Commission of Brabant.
· Additional training in management or geriatrics is a real asset.
Your experiences
· You have at least 5 years' experience as a nurse;
· Experience in geriatrics or team management is a real plus;
· You are comfortable with computer tools and the monitoring of patient files;
· You have a good knowledge of Dutch: You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues.

· Flexibility and availability: You adapt to the needs of the department (24/7 activity) with professionalism and a sense of responsibility.

Remuneration on the basis of the IFIC scales (category 16), with resumption of seniority:
· Min: 3948,02€ (index: 2.1647)
· Max : 6333 ,89€ (index 2.1647)
