Job description

Every week after school, more than 300 children from working-class neighbourhoods in the Brussels region have the opportunity to learn hockey in more than 12 primary schools. Once a month, we organize a tournament between the different schools. Our ambition is to make hockey accessible by creating a City Hockey League, helping children who wish to become members of an outdoor hockey club and, at a later stage, creating a Hockey Foundation. 🏑✨

As General Coordinator, you are responsible for the management of the non-profit organisation, the implementation of the long-term plan, reporting to the Board of Directors and ensuring the quality of our hockey academy. With the sports coordinator, you also lead a team of more than 30 animators who also come from working-class neighborhoods. Our ambition is to enable more than 900 children to play sustainably every week by the end of 2028.

👉 WHAT DO YOU DO CONCRETELY?

  • You are responsible for the growth plan - number of members and for sustainable hockey +-5% of the time.

  • You respond to the board of directors, communicate and propose solutions if necessary +-5%.

  • You establish and maintain partnerships with elementary schools, outdoor hockey clubs and pedagogical schools in order to support the growth plan in terms of quality +-15%.

  • You are very regularly in the field to supervise and sometimes to initiate schools +-30%.

  • You are responsible for the management of members +-5%.

  • You work as part of a team and help the sports coordinator achieve her goals, including the planning of hockey activities, the follow-up and supervision of the animators, the training program for the children, pedagogical training, the recruitment of animators, the relationship with parents and the organization of tournaments +-15%.

  • You are responsible for the financing - a large part comes from long-term sponsors, for the administration and for social media +-25%.

Profile

  • Sport and management are part of your DNA 🧬

  • You have good organisational and planning skills and are good at using various software and applications.

  • You are enthusiastic and dynamic, you have a solution-oriented mindset and you know how to keep your focus.

  • You are passionate about fair play in sports and hockey. 🏑 If you don't play hockey yet, you can make the sport your passion.

  • You have at least 2 to 3 years of professional experience and experience in a non-profit organisation is a plus.

  • You are fluent in Dutch and French.

  • You are flexible in terms of working hours, you are also available on the court during the week after 16:00 and occasionally on weekends for tournaments, you can be reached.

  • You are mobile in the Brussels 🚍 region
