Job description

A stretcher-bearer (m/f/x)
Under a full-time fixed-term contract (3 and a half month fixed-term contract)
What does the job consist of?
As a stretcher-bearer, you play an essential role in the care of patients by ensuring their support and transport between the different departments of the hospital, in optimal conditions of comfort, safety and respect for deadlines.
Your main responsibilities
· Provide transportation or accompaniment of patients to the requested department, at the request of the medical or nursing staff.
· Prepare and gather the necessary equipment for transport (wheelchair, bed, drip stand, oxygen, etc.).
· Install the patient in the wheelchair, examination table or bed, ensuring their comfort and safety.
· Collect the information necessary for travel and transmit the relevant documents (medical file, etc.) to the reception service.
· Observe the state of health of patients and alert in the event of deterioration, being able to provide first aid if necessary.
· To offer benevolent accompaniment and moral support to patients.
· Transport samples, medicines or various equipment between departments.
· Ensure the maintenance and cleaning of transport equipment.
Your environment, your team and your manager
· You work on the 3 hospital sites: Etterbeek-Ixelles, Molière Longchamp, Joseph Bracops
· You will join a team of about twenty stretcher-bearer colleagues.
How about we talk about you?
Your training :
· You hold the Certificate of Lower Secondary Education (CECI)
· You have the certificate in Emergency Medical Assistance (AMU)
· You have the European First Aid Certificate (BEPS)
Your experience and knowledge :
· You have a first experience in the hospital field
· Knowledge of the public sector and the hospital environment is an asset
· You have a good knowledge of Dutch : You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues
Your skills:
· You demonstrate an excellent sense of service and listening to patients, in all circumstances.
· You are in good physical condition so that you can travel frequently and handle equipment or patients with care.
· You act with rigour, responsiveness and a sense of priorities, especially during urgent transport.
· You work reliably and collaboratively with all nursing and logistics staff.
· You strictly adhere to hygiene, safety and confidentiality protocols.
· You demonstrate a team spirit, a positive attitude and a good resistance to stress.
· You are attentive to the state of health and well-being of patients, and able to spot any abnormal situations.

· Type of contract: fixed-term contract for a period of 3 and a half months
· Working time: 100% (38h/week)
· Opening hours: Between 7am and 10pm from Monday to Sunday

Remuneration based on the scales of the Social Charter (D) with resumption of seniority:
· Min: €2481.06 (index: 2.1647)
· Max: €3,730.99 gross (index: 2.1647)
