IRIS South Hospitals is looking for,

For the Operating Quarter at the Etterbeek-Ixelles site,

an Operating Room Nurse (m/f/x)

Under a fixed-term contract, full-time (38 hours/week)

What does the job consist of?

As a nurse in the Operating Room, your mission will be to prepare the operating room as well as assist the doctor, the anesthesiologist and the instrumentalist and accompany the patients in the operating room (both nursing and psychosocial) in order to guarantee the safety and smooth running of the operations.

You prepare the interventions and accompany the patients

Before each intervention, you ensure that everything is ready to guarantee a safe and efficient environment. In concrete terms, you:

·      read the operating program and prepare the room as well as the equipment necessary for the operations;

·      Monitor the availability, functionality, and sterility of hardware.

·      welcome, settle and accompany the patient while ensuring his comfort, safety and emotional state;

·      carry out preoperative safety checks with the surgical and anesthetic team (surgical safety checklist / time out);

·      Prepare the patient for anesthesia and collaborate with the anesthesiologist in the performance of delegated nursing and medical procedures.

At the heart of the action, you bring your expertise and vigilance to guarantee the safety of the patient and the smooth running of the operation. You:

·      ensure that the rules of asepsis and sterility are respected throughout the procedure;

·      assist the surgeon and the operating team by anticipating their needs;

·      ensure the management, identification and traceability of samples and biopsies;

·      Enter the necessary information in the computerized patient record and ensure the administrative follow-up related to the interventions.

·      You will ensure the follow-up of the patient and the tidying up of the room

After the operation, you continue your role with the patient and help prepare the team for the rest of the operating program. You:

·      accompany the patient to the recovery room with the anaesthetist;

·      monitor the patient's condition and provide the necessary care after the procedure;

·      participate in tidying up, cleaning and preparing the room for the next intervention;

How about we talk about you?

Your training:

- You hold a Bachelor's degree (Graduat) in nursing, approved and registered by the Medical Commission of Brabant.

- Specialization in the operating room is an asset.

Your experience and knowledge:

- Ideally, you can have experience in a similar role.

- You have a good knowledge of the second national language.

- You have good computer skills.

Your skills:

- You are rigorous and attentive to details. In the operating room, every step is essential: you apply the procedures with precision and constantly ensure the safety of the patient.

- You know how to keep calm under pressure. You are able to manage urgent situations, prioritize your actions and remain efficient in an environment where the pace can be fast.

- You like to work in a team. You communicate easily with the various stakeholders, promote collaboration and contribute to a positive work atmosphere.

- You are organized and forward-looking. You anticipate the needs of the surgical team, prepare your work environment methodically and take initiative when necessary.

- You are adaptable and available. You know how to adjust to different situations, changes in programs and the needs of the department.

- You are discreet and professional. You respect confidentiality, adopt a respectful attitude towards patients and their relatives and guarantee quality care.

·      Type of contract: 6-month fixed-term contract

·      Working time: 100% (38h/week)

·      Opening hours: ·      Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 3 pm or from 12 pm to 8 pm + weekend shifts.

Remuneration on the basis of the IFIC scales (category 15), with resumption of seniority:

·      Min: 3620.24 € (index: 2.1647)

·      Max : 5718,93 € (index 2.1647)
