Context

L'Aire de Rien is approved by the COCOM of the Brussels Capital Region as a day care centre for people in precarious situations. The structure is part of the social services division of the Les Petits Riens group. These activities are an integral part of the Les Petits Riens group, which develops social economy activities (collection, sorting and sale of second-hand objects) and social actions

The Aire de Rien team is made up of 6 social workers whose mission is to provide people in difficulty with a welcome in our day centre, individual psycho-social support, group activities and services to help with daily life: places to rest, community areas, hot drinks, lockers, Showers...

Since June 2024, our new ADR day care centre "L'Aire De Rien", with a capacity of 80 people, in Forest has been opened. 

In order to be able to respond to the requests and needs of our beneficiaries, to feed the reflection on our practice and ambitions and to strengthen the psycho-social team, we are looking for a social worker for a full-time position, for a commitment as soon as possible.

👉 Missions

Under the supervision of the Director of the day centre and the coordinator, you will be assigned two main missions:

  • To ensure the reception, social services and individual support of the beneficiaries,

  • Ensuring community/group work within the day centre

👉 Tasks

  • You will provide individual/follow-up interviews and social services for our beneficiaries

  • You will accompany the users of the Aire de Rien and ensure administrative follow-ups of files

  • You participate in the " teamwork " dynamic during team meetings and by collaborating with partner networks

  • You develop and share observations, hypotheses and avenues of work for target audiences

  • You carry out and lead group and/or community activities,

  • You participate in participatory assemblies

  • You will ensure a pleasant and safe environment and welcome for users by guaranteeing respect for people, ethics and professional secrecy

  • You feed the clinical reflection in order to offer quality support

  • You are driven by teamwork and an institutional vision in the development of the service and the reception of the public  

Profile

  • You have an A1 diploma in the social sector: educator, social worker, psychology assistant, psychologist, community 🎓 health nurse

  • You have significant work experience in the social sector, in particular in group facilitation and/or working with people in irregular situations/undocumented people with exile backgrounds

  • You have a good knowledge of the Belgian and Brussels associative fabric

  • You speak and write French perfectly. Knowledge of Dutch or another language is a serious asset

  • You are looking for the best possible social intervention for the benefit of the beneficiary and therefore demonstrate qualities such as empathy, congruence, unconditional acceptance, teamwork, administrative rigor

Our offer 

  • A fixed-term contract until 30/08/2026 full-time, 38 hours/week from Monday to Friday 📆

  • Remuneration according to the COCOM scales of CP 330.02

  • 100% reimbursement of travel by public transport, or €0.35/km if you come by bike/scooter, or a sectoral car package (not recommended given the difficulty of finding a parking space in the area)
