⭐ Your role
As Head of Public and Regulatory Affairs, you are responsible for the development and implementation of Fost Plus' public affairs policy. You will closely follow political and regulatory developments at Belgian and European level and anticipate if necessary. You will build and maintain a strong network with policymakers, administrations and other stakeholders at local, regional, federal and international levels. You report to the Director of Innovation & Business Development.
You will be responsible for developing a public affairs strategy for civil society, environmental organizations and knowledge institutions.
You are also responsible for regulatory matters at both European and Belgian level and proactively represent Fost Plus in relevant consultation structures, networks and policy processes. To this end, you will also work closely with the relevant federations and companies to exchange information and align views. You regularly provide feedback on these issues and activities within the Fost Plus management committee.
👉 Your tasks include:
Development of an annual public affairs plan in line with Fost Plus' strategic objectives.
Coordinate communication and coordination with sectoral federations and other stakeholders.
Support the CEO, management team and President in their dealings with governments and regulators.
Tracking who maintains which contacts and checking for message consistency.
Analyze policy and regulatory trends and translate this information into positions and position papers.
Provide inputs to answer parliamentary questions related to Fost Plus and its activities.
Liaise with influencers such as NGOs, think tanks, and international organizations.
Further develop dialogue with civil society and environmental organizations as part of a clear public affairs strategy.

👌 Expertise
Master's degree in economics, law or political science. 🎓
Number of years of experience required: min. 5 years
A first experience in a Belgian and/or European political context is a plus, but above all a curious attitude to quickly master new issues is crucial.
In-depth knowledge of Belgian and European decision-making processes.
You are fluent in Dutch, French and English.
