
Communication Advisor
Job description
As a Communication Advisor , you and your team are the permanent point of contact for the intermunicipal waste management companies in Belgium. You monitor Fost Plus' communication objectives within the broader marketing strategy. On the Flemish side, you and your colleague take care of 27 intermunicipal companies. You also offer support on the Walloon side where necessary.
💻✨ Responsibilities
You will build lasting relationships of trust with the communication services and those responsible for the intermunicipal waste management companies in Flanders.
Together with the Account Managers Operations, you are the first point of contact for the communication staff of the intermunicipal companies with which Fost Plus cooperates. 🤝
You encourage and support the intermunicipal companies to communicate effectively, both in terms of the use of their budget and through the use of communication tools.
In close collaboration with specialized communication agencies:
You will guide the intermunicipal companies in the implementation of their communication projects.
You will help to further develop the communication offer that Fost Plus offers them, in line with our communication strategy.
You organise and participate in consultation moments about communication with your intermunicipal companies and other stakeholders in the sector (e.g. Interafval), and provide input and advice and keep a finger on the pulse.
In your role, you ensure that the core message and approach to communication is correct and consistent.
Communication is your passion: you are always up to date with new trends and developments in the field.
You actively look for improvements and optimisations in the collaboration with your intermunicipal companies and within Fost Plus, and commit yourself to working with the team on processes, projects and facilitating tools.
In addition to showing your expertise, you also like to roll up your sleeves for the necessary administration and financial follow-up. 📝

You communicate fluently and clearly, both verbally and in writing, and you know how to show diplomacy . You can convey and present complex information in an understandable and attractive way .
You listen actively and keep the dialogue open with both internal and external discussion partners.
You are able to convince others with clear and well-thought-out arguments, and have a healthy dose of assertiveness and flexibility.
You identify opportunities to strengthen cooperation with intermunicipal companies and other partners.
You are strong in problem-solving: you place situations and problems in their context and systematically look for additional information in order to arrive at effective solutions .
You work independently and take initiative, with an eye for the long-term objectives of the organization.
👌 Expertise
You have at least a bachelor's degree (specifically in Marketing or Communication is a plus). 🎓
You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within communication and/or key account management.
You speak and write Dutch and French fluently; knowledge of English is a plus.
Experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or retail sector is an additional asset.
