Product Engineer - Hardware Assets
Job description
About the Company
Bambaw is a Belgian sustainable living brand that builds sustainable, everyday alternatives to single-use products. We sell in: EU, US, UK, CA, reaching more than 1.3 million customers in 2025. Our product line covers shaving, tableware, home textiles, personal care, and food items—all built to last. Bambaw is part of Brolutions, a growing house of mission-driven consumer brands: meaning you'll not just be working on a single product line, but you'll be exposed to a diverse portfolio ranging from sustainability, oral care, and personal wellness. We are a team of 30+ people located partially in Brussels and remotely, with a clear mission: to make everyday life simpler, healthier and more sustainable.
The role
We are looking for a Product Engineer to manage the technical development of our portfolio of hardware assets — from feasibility and prototyping to production-ready products. You will work directly with our suppliers (mainly in Asia), validate materials and manufacturing processes, ensure compliance and set the technical standards that will allow us to expand.
What you're going to do
Lead end-to-end product development for assigned hard goods: develop concepts based on market requirements, establish samples of potential competitors and suppliers, assess feasibility and risks, evaluate materials, prototyping, DFM alignment, and supplier iteration
Define product requirements and functional test plans, validate compliance (REACH, CE, LFGB, mechanical safety) before laboratory launch if necessary
Approve pre-production samples (FBS, PPS) and set inspection checklists as well as QC standards
Perform post-launch quality reviews (returns, defects, customer feedback) and conduct corrective actions
Create and maintain a Technical Development Wiki: Test Standards, Material Guidelines, Supplier Requirements, DFM Rules
Provide technical support to procurement, supply chain, marketplace, and brand teams for smooth launches
Profile
What we are looking for
Essential:
2+ years of engineering in product development for physical consumer products
Hands-on experience with prototyping, material selection, DFM, and supplier iteration
Robust technical problem solving: You methodically diagnose failures and take corrective action
Fluent in English (working language)
Assessment:
Experience working with Asian factories, SolidWorks/Rhino, or having launched a consumer product from start to finish
