Educator for KaPP

Would you like to invest yourself with young children in difficulty and evolve within a recognized university hospital environment? Join KaPP (child and adolescent psychiatry unit) at Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc.

KaPP is a specialized child psychiatry unit welcoming children aged 0 to 12 in day and/or day-night hospitalization, presenting psychological, developmental, or behavioral disorders.

As part of the development of our specialized support, we are looking for a specialized educator with proven experience with young children (0 to 6 years old).

You will join an experienced multidisciplinary team (child psychiatrists, psychologists, speech therapists, psychomotor therapists, educators, nurses, social workers, etc.), working in close consultation to offer comprehensive, individualized, and coherent care. 

Your mission:

• Implement educational and therapeutic actions adapted to the specific needs of each child, in connection with the individualized therapeutic project.
• Supervise groups through various workshops (playful, sensory, bodily, educational, etc.) promoting the overall development and well-being of the children.
• Ensure daily support (therapeutic meals, hygiene care, moments of life), in day and/or day-night hospitalization.
• Collaborate closely with families, integrating them as care partners, and maintain the link with the network (schools, youth aid services, healthcare professionals, etc.).
• Participate actively in clinical meetings and in the development of the therapeutic project within a multidisciplinary and institutional approach.
• Contribute to the drafting of hospitalization reports and the monitoring of situations.
• Participate in the institutional dynamics of the service and the supervision of trainees.

Education and skills:

• Degree as a Specialized Educator (A1 or equivalent – bachelor level).
• Experience in a similar function with children aged 0 to 6 is an asset.
• Specific knowledge and/or training in child psychiatry.
• Good knowledge of institutional work, medico-social care, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Capacity for clinical analysis and reflection in complex situations.
• Interest in institutional, systemic, and developmental therapeutic approaches.
