Job description

Within the Medical Analytics Service, the Business Intelligence Developer plays a key role in structuring and evolving the institution's data ecosystem.

Its main mission is to design and develop robust, efficient and reusable data models, analytical structures and transformation processes, in order to meet the needs of reporting, operational management and advanced analysis.

Using data from the Epic DPI, including Clarity and Caboodle, you can help build a coherent, standardized, and documented analytics environment that provides reliable and understandable data to different users.

In concrete terms, you will be required to:

  • Design, develop and maintain data models and semantic layers adapted to institutional needs;
  • Develop and optimize data transformation processes (ETL/ELT), ensuring their performance, robustness and maintainability;
  • Structure reusable data models to facilitate reporting and self-service analytics;
  • Define and promote standards, naming conventions, documentation rules and best practices in data development and management;
  • Contribute to the definition and maintenance of standardized indicators and KPIs, in order to ensure a consistent interpretation of data within the institution;
  • Participate in data governance initiatives, including access management, RBAC and separation of services;
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, readability and traceability of the data made available to users;
  • Anticipate the impacts of changes in the Epic DPI and contribute to the adaptation of the analytics ecosystem;
  • Provide your technical expertise to Reporting Specialists and Data Analysts and participate in the resolution of complex issues;
  • Collaborate with IT teams, clinical and administrative users as well as with the various departments of the Medical Analytics Service;
  • Identify and propose new approaches or technologies to improve the quality, performance and transparency of analytical solutions.

You thus act as a technical reference for data models and transformations, with a particular focus on the consistency of the entire BI ecosystem.

Profile

You have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Quantitative Sciences or an equivalent discipline and have significant experience, ideally from 5 to 10 years or more, in a BI, data engineering or data modelling environment.

You will have the following skills:

  • Excellent command of SQL and structured data manipulation;
    Strong experience in relational and dimensional data modeling;
  • Good command of ETL/ELT processes;
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools, including Power BI or equivalent;
  • Knowledge of a programming language such as Python;
  • Experience with versioning tools, including Git;
  • Experience in complex data environments, ideally in the hospital sector or in an REM/EHR environment;
  • Recent experience with Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle is a strong asset;
  • An Epic Clarity/Caboodle certification or training is a plus;
  • Experience in data governance, data standardization and KPI definition is an asset;
  • Knowledge of standardized data models such as OMOP CDM is a plus;
  • You have a minimum level of B2 English, allowing you to work with technical documentation and collaborate with international contacts;
  • Knowledge of French and/or Dutch, at a level that allows effective collaboration with internal users, is an asset.
