Clinical Research Nurse in Oncology (M/F/X)
Job description
🎯 General role
- Coordination and follow-up of clinical trials with patients
- Working in partnership with the principal investigator and the multidisciplinary team
- Guaranteeing the quality, efficiency and safety of care
Respect for professional secrecy, ethics and institutional procedures
🧠 Expertise & skills
- Mastery of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Declaration of Helsinki is a plus
- Knowledge of pathologies and treatments related to clinical trials
- Nursing expertise in comprehensive patient care
Multidisciplinary vision and understanding of hospital operations
🤝 Collaboration & communication
- Transmission of protocols to nursing teams
- Clarification of the teams' role in clinical trials
ℹ️ Patient information & education
- Informing the patient and their entourage about study objectives, patient rights and implications
- Providing information on side effects and follow-up education
- Clinical monitoring of the patient included in the study
- Health education role for the patient and their family
🛡️ Safety & quality
- Monitoring and management of side effects
📚 Training
- Continuous updating of knowledge (training courses)
- Training of concerned nursing teams
- Supervision of students and new staff members
- Maintaining technical nursing skills
🩺 Techniques & clinical procedures
- Performing technical procedures: blood and biological sampling, taking parameters, ECG and specific examinations
- Management of biological samples (processing, shipping, conservation)
- Preparation and administration of experimental treatments
Adapting doses according to the protocol.
Profile
📚 Required qualifications and experience:
- Nursing title in accordance with Belgian legislation
- Fluent knowledge of French
- Basic knowledge of written medical English
- Knowledge of computer software
- Training in clinical trial management or equivalent experience is a plus
- Mastery of Good Clinical Practice, ethical and scientific quality standards in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki is a plus
- Knowledge of directives, regulations and standards governing clinical research is a plus
- Experience in the field of clinical research is a plus
- Experience in clinical trial administration is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Dutch is a plus
