Hôpitaux IRIS Sud are looking for,
For the Internal Medicine department at the Etterbeek-Ixelles site,
A Nurse (m/f/x)
For a full-time open-ended contract (part-time possible min. 19h/week)
What does the job involve?
Unit T31 is a 26-bed infectio-oncology medicine unit. As a nurse, you work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team consisting of care assistants, logistics assistants, secretaries, physicians, dietitians, physiotherapists, social workers and students.
You ensure comprehensive, humane and safe care for patients facing complex and sometimes emotionally heavy pathologies. You provide nursing and technical care in accordance with medical prescriptions, assess patients' health status, anticipate at-risk situations and intervene autonomously in emergencies while awaiting the physician. You prepare, administer and monitor treatments, adapt medical devices according to clinical evolution and assist the physician during specific technical procedures.
You ensure the comfort, hygiene, nutrition and support of patients throughout their care pathway, from exam preparation to the organization of discharge or transfers. As a key player in the continuity and quality of care, you ensure data traceability, contribute to the care plan and collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team.
Beyond technical care, you play an essential role of listening, information and support for patients and their loved ones, particularly during moments of vulnerability, diagnosis disclosure or distress. You also participate in the supervision and training of students, in compliance with quality standards and the hospital's values.
T31 is a pilot unit of the C.A.R.E UP! project, in which the organization of nursing work has been redesigned to better distribute the workload and value everyone's skills. In this capacity, you actively participate in the organization of the day and consultation within the team.
Your main missions notably include:
· Ensure the quality and continuity of care: provide technical, relational and educational nursing care adapted to patient needs, in compliance with protocols, safety rules and the quality approach.
· Exercise a role of clinical leadership: coordinate care delivery in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, participate in clinical decisions, and propose improvements in practices and department organization.
· Supervise and support students and new colleagues: ensure welcoming, mentoring, knowledge transfer and internship skills assessment, in a logic of professional development and care quality.
Your manager, your team and your environment
· You will be supervised by Anne Spilleboudt, head nurse, and Mélisande Vander Elst, deputy head nurse
· You will join a team of 18 people consisting of nurses, care assistants, logistics assistants and a secretary.
· You work within the T31 unit at our Etterbeek-Ixelles site located at Rue Jean Paquot 63 in Ixelles.
