Job description

The main mission is to define the collections of non-food fair trade products that will be sold by Oxfam-Magasins du monde, the leading player in non-food fair trade in Belgium. The Product Manager will be responsible for the design and monitoring of the handicraft collections in line with the values of Oxfam-Magasins du Monde. šŸŒāœØ

He/She is part of a team of 4 people and reports to the Purchasing Manager. Together with his/her colleagues, he/she is at the heart of the definition of the products (1000 references per year) sold in nearly 200 stores in Belgium.

Define the product range for our 2 annual collections (spring/summer and autumn/winter) and the permanent craft range.

To do this :

  • Analyze the market and trends and prepare collections

  • Analyze sales of previous collections and set purchase volumes, after consultation with sales managers

  • Identify the expectations of our target audiences, in collaboration with volunteers and with the sales departments of our main sales networks

  • Ensuring follow-up concerning current collections

  • Select products and place orders with our various partners

  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of the process and proactive and dynamic communication regarding products (creation of content for volunteers or other departments)

  • Take charge of certain administrative tasks inherent to the Purchasing department.

Profile

  • Ideological adherence to the Oxfam-Magasins du monde project and to the values supported by fair šŸ’š trade

  • Interest in working professionally in the service of a volunteer movement

  • Higher education ideally oriented towards trade or import-export, or equivalent experience

  • Commercial skills, with a strong affinity for craftsmanship and fashion in particular

  • Skills and experience in Product Management if possible for similar ranges

  • Rigour, organizational skills and respect for deadlines

  • Curiosity and creativity

  • Ability to work in a team šŸ¤

  • Fluency in English, knowledge of Dutch is desired and Spanish is an asset

  • Excellent command of the office suite, particularly Excel, and experience with an ERP

  • Analytical skills and fluency with numbers are assets.
