Alexandre Helson - Maison Dandoy - A biscuit story older than Belgium, but nothing is taken for granted
So if you're Belgian, you're probably familiar with Maison Dandoy and its famous Speculoos.
And if there is one who has known them since he was a child, it is Alexandre Helson, the co-director of this artisanal biscuit factory which will be 200 years old in 2029.
So Alexandre is not alone in the boat! He worked with his brother Antoine to ensure that the company survived the centuries to come.
Together, they represent the 7th generation of the family that is taking over the reins of the company.
In this episode:
Alexandre reveals how he got through his family and personal crisis against the backdrop of the health crisis during the COVID pandemic.
As well as the decision taken with his brother to then take over the management of Dandoy in 2021.
And above all, he explains the pivotal moment in which the company finds itself. With his brother, he tries to solve an equation that takes into account the growth that the company has experienced, the structural needs that are therefore felt, their desire to make Dandoy an example of regeneration and finally, the desire to offer products at affordable prices.
A great challenge and a beautiful story in which I invite you to immerse yourself.
Hi and welcome to Donne le Rythme, the podcast about Belgian entrepreneurship.
I am Thimothée Remy, a professional coach, and I support those who want to start as a freelancer or move forward more serenely in their entrepreneurial project.
With this podcast, I create a space to get to the heart of the subjects. Through my episodes, you will discover the journeys, the successes but also the struggles of my guests. And above all, you will understand how they actually launched their business.
Over the course of the conversations, they really open up, without filter. In any case, that's still my goal!
Belgium is full of entrepreneurs, inspiring talents that I can't wait to introduce to you.
Thank you for listening and all you have to do is set the pace!
