Job description
The Strategy and Development Department (DSD) designs, steers and coherently aligns Smart's strategy, while ensuring its deployment through projects, partnerships, advocacy and communication.
In order to support and steer these activities, we are looking for our future Director of Strategy and Development
Activities and tasks
The Director of Strategy and Development defines, steers and coordinates the strategic orientations of the organization in order to strengthen its impact, positioning and capacity for transformation.
He/she ensures the coherence and complementarity of the actions carried out by the teams in charge of project strategy and management, partnerships, advocacy and communication.
He/she ensures the operational translation of the organization's ambitions, the development of its ecosystem and the strengthening of its visibility among its stakeholders.
In concrete terms, the Director of Strategy and Development is responsible for:
Define and deploy the cooperative's strategy , transforming collective ambitions into concrete actions, anticipating changes in the environment and managing impact measurement
Coordinate and steer the portfolio of strategic projects by ensuring their alignment with the cooperative's social mission and development objectives
Support transformations and strengthen cooperation between teams and stakeholders
Define and deploy a partnership strategy aimed at strengthening the cooperative's territorial anchoring and development.
Develop collaborations (social economy actors, public authorities, companies, universities and associations,...), identify new opportunities for cooperation and funding, and represent the organisation to its networks and partners.
Define and carry out the cooperative's advocacy strategy in order to promote its values and positions to decision-makers and partners and contribute to the development of the social economy sector and to reflections on the social, economic and ecological transitions of the territory.
Manage the communication strategy in order to strengthen the visibility, notoriety and influence of the cooperative while promoting its achievements and impact and guaranteeing the consistency of its image and messages.
Manage and federate multidisciplinary teams by promoting collective intelligence, transversality and commitment, support skills development and promote a culture of cooperation, innovation and continuous improvement.
Profile
Master's level higher education (management, management sciences, political science, territorial development, social economy, public administration or equivalent)
Proven experience of at least 5 years in a management position, multidisciplinary team management and change management
Fluency in one of the two national languages (FR/NL) and knowledge of the other language (level B1) is required. Fluency in English is an asset
Knowledge of cooperative models, the social economy sector and territorial issues is a plus
Key skills: developing a vision, cooperating, developing others, negotiating, decision-making, stress management and change management

A full-time permanent contract – 35 hours/week
Main place of work: Smart headquarters in Saint-Gilles
Hybrid work organised in agreement with your hierarchy
