Within the Finance team, we are currently looking for an Accounting Specialist.
The team ensures financial reporting to the head office of the regulator (NBB) and manages the tax returns of the bank and the Belgian entities of the group.

👉 How will you make a difference

You will be responsible for the accounting of the Belgian branch of Triodos Bank. You are responsible for the monthly close, which includes:

• Invoice processing.

• Compliance with appropriate valuation principles (IFRS & BE GAAP) and the quality of financial figures.

• The reconciliation of sub-administrations with the general accounting.

• The calculation and recording of monthly depreciation of property, plant and equipment and intangible assets.

• The tax treatment of corporate tax.

👉 In addition to managing general accounting

• You will be responsible for the bank's annual statutory obligations.

• You take initiatives to optimize the monthly closing process.

• You formalize and standardize processes, for example by improving work instructions and documenting internal control measures.

• You identify and implement opportunities to use existing applications smarter, better, and more efficiently.

• You prepare monthly VAT returns.

• You answer questions and provide the necessary justifications to the external auditor.

• You contribute to change projects in your field of expertise.

• You have a good knowledge of accounting principles and you have experience in a finance function.

👉 In addition, it is desirable that you

• Have a good command of Dutch or French and English, both orally and in writing.

• Have an affinity for IT systems, IT applications, and AI.

• Have experience in the financial sector.

You report directly to the Head of Finance and work closely with the other members of the Finance team.
