Job description

Oxfam-Magasins du monde develops and imports food and non-food products from various partners in the South and the North. These products are sold in its own network of 63 stores in Brussels and Wallonia, in the network of 200 Oxfam-Wereldwinkels in Flanders, but also to companies or local authorities.

 The head of the external sales department is responsible for developing and managing a strategy to develop the turnover achieved specifically in the following networks:  the network of 200 Oxfam Wereldwinkels (OWW), companies, communities including schools, related stores and the independent store of the Stock Exchange.

 Sales in our network of 63 Oxfam stores worldwide are managed independently within another sales department.

 He/she reports to the Sales and Logistics Department and can count on a team of 3 people, as well as the collaboration of a customer service manager.

  As an outside sales manager, you are responsible for:

  • Develop and implement a sales growth strategy for the OWW network in Flanders and B2B (companies, local authorities, related stores).

  • Develop analysis tools to guide purchases and commercial actions.

  • Establish the budget for external sales as well as sales forecasts and ensure follow-up.

  • Contribute to defining the product assortment by providing knowledge of the needs of the customers in this network.

  • Ensure good collaboration upstream with the purchasing manager and downstream with the logistics manager.

  • Participate as a Key User for outside sales in the migration from ERP to Business Central.

  • Guide updates and optimization of external customer ordering tools (Websites & Open Food Network)

  • Liaise with the Oxfam Fair Trade team to facilitate sales in the OWW network.

  • Stimulate and guide team members, set goals and support their implementation.

  • In collaboration with the Mobilization department, facilitate the external sales of volunteer teams through tools and training.  

Profile

  • You know and adhere to the project and values of Oxfam-Magasins du monde.

  • You are enthusiastic about the idea of working professionally in the service of a volunteer movement.

  • You have a higher level of commercial training and proven experience in a similar position.

  • You are sensitive to fair trade and want to put your commercial skills at the service of its promotion. 

  • You have significant experience in team management. You manage to unite around your objectives and are concerned about the development of your team members.

  • You are ideally able to work in French, Dutch and English.

  • You communicate easily, both orally and in writing, with a developed sense of listening and you have an ability to forge partnerships.

  • Rigour, organization and analytical skills are part of your qualities.

  • Creative and positive spirit, you are able to promote new ideas.

  • You like to work independently and in a team.

  • You are flexible, you have a positive and solution-oriented attitude.

  • You have a real IT affinity and a good command of common IT tools, including Webshop and ERP.
