Job description
As an Infrastructure System Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, evolution, integration and operational monitoring of central systems, including (but not limited to):
Windows and Linux servers
VMWare or XenServer hypervisors,
Citrix XenApp servers
services such as Active Directory, MS Exchange, printing,
Management, monitoring or security tools such as: MS System Center.
You set up and follow management processes, whether automated or not
You analyze and resolve incidents reported by users via the helpdesk (2nd or 3rd line) or monitoring systems
You are the main contact with suppliers, project managers and other departments (integration)
You will participate in the development of the IT department's strategy and in the definition or adaptation of internal standards or processes.
You ensure the operational follow-up of the systems, including participating in the on-call role 1 week a week and a day of duty in the morning (from 8am) or in the evening (until 6pm)
Profile
Knowledge and know-how :
Have a background in computer science (Bachelor's or Master's degree) and/or you have at least 3 years' experience specifically in VMware, SAN, Windows, Linux environments.
You are comfortable in a complex context, which involves heterogeneous procedures, infrastructures and the use of technologies.
Certifications in the following areas are assets :
Virtualization: VMware VSphere 6.x/8.x, Hyper-V
Citrix XenApp
Commvault
Windows and, if possible, Linux server management
Experience required (in function, management, project management, etc.) ;
Be able to ensure the operational maintenance of platforms including servers running VMware VSphere 6.x/8.x
Manage advanced support and administer Windows and Linux servers
Integrate new software
Document infrastructure changes
Be able to formulate proposals for the optimization of network administration and supervision (automation, scripting, etc.)
Other required knowledge (computer software, languages, etc.) ;
You have a good knowledge of Windows and/or Linux OS and middleware (optional).
Skills acquired in other technical areas are an asset.
You are able to actively and effectively participate in a conversation in English.
