From Agility to Neurodiversity | Alexandre Auquier
At hrmeetup.©, we talk about human resources, passions at work, entrepreneurial journeys, but also transformation.
More broadly, we explore everything that places people at the heart of the world of work.
In this capsule, we welcome Alexandre Auquier.
We are talking about resuming university studies, neurodiversity, human support and a path that seems to be changing direction while it has been following the same common thread since the beginning.
A graduate of UMONS in computer science, Alexandre enters the world of Extreme Programming (with a hello to Pierre-Emmanuel Dautreppe, Norman Deschauwe and the Agile Days by the way).
Very quickly, a common thread appears and is anchored in the long term: listening, understanding and taking into account the human being.
Because it is not enough to program, it is above all necessary to listen, hear and understand the needs to obtain the right result.
Quality code alone is not enough to satisfy software users.
Over the course of the encounters and the awareness they arouse, Alexandre continues this path with remarkable coherence.
He is also interested in what sometimes blows differently in the sails, in what may seem to be a hindrance for some and become a strength for those who take the time to look more at the horizon than at the bow of the boat.
This brings us naturally to the subject of neurodiversity, with, for my part, a nod to Isabelle Deliège.
His route is not a simple crossing, it is rather a tour of the globe.
Alexandre knows that he will be approaching fifty when he can practice his new job, but he stays the course.
His journey is punctuated by stopovers, at each home port, he takes the time to land .
It no longer only debugs software; He uses his experience and learnings to, in his own words, "debug people" and support those who seek to understand themselves better.
Then he hoists the sails again towards the next stage, taking with him new learnings and leaving behind people, teams and encounters enriched by his listening, his experience and his view of people.
"The important thing is what is in front of you, without forgetting where you come from."
When asked which landscape has marked him the most or what was his most beautiful encounter, Alexandre cites Timothée Pourbaix.
He then talks to us about human management and inspiring leadership.
He also returns to an important awareness: the interest of tests and the ability to transform what seems like a chore into real added value.
Because, yes, hoisting the sails requires effort, but the feeling is beautiful and the route becomes smoother when the winds are favourable.
"There is no favorable wind for him who does not know where he is going," said Seneca.
We can only hope that you will cross paths with Alexandre, and we are impatient to see him return from this new journey, rich in energy and wisdom, always guided by the same common thread.
Want to leave a message for Alexandre? A question, a gratitude for his sharing or simply a comment?
Don't hesitate.
Alexandre himself tested the answering machine of the podcast "Pyxis - Le Podcast" by Pyxis Belgium to leave a voicemail for Charles-Louis de Maere, and he found the experience particularly nice.
Rest assured: he is still alive, has not been traumatized by the experience, and would be delighted to hear your voices.
Enter a participatory episode yourself, and if the spotlight scares you, you can even remain anonymous.
Thank you and enjoy listening.
