Adélaïde Charlier, Co-founder of Youth for Climate

Today I have the pleasure of welcoming Adélaïde Charlier. Adélaïde is the co-founder of the citizen movement Youth for Climate, which is part of the Fridays for Future initiative of environmental activist Greta Thunberg in the fight against global warming.

In this episode, Adelaide begins by describing the world she aspires to for the next few years; a world guided by the value of respect for all living beings. She carries and defends this vision as part of her activist commitment. Echoing the call for a climate emergency from scientists, she invites, at only 22 years old, citizens of her generation and even more, of all generations, to get involved, each at their own level, to question practices that are unfair to living things and find solutions to climate change.

Adélaïde then sets out the conditions under which young talents who are aware of the climate cause and sustainable development will continue to join traditional companies in the future; conditions that are increasingly vital for them.

Finally, she returns to her role as special adviser to the European Commissioner in charge of the Green Deal, Frans Timmermans, to challenge him, relentlessly, on the expectations of the young European generation and on the interest of putting the question of "urgency" back at the centre of political debates.
