Understand how to turn scrap into resources and build business resilience

In this third and final episode of the triptych dedicated to the levers of the circular economy, Pierre Léonard invites us to explore a dimension that is often underestimated: reducing and recovering waste.

After learning how to save resources and optimize assets, it's time to rethink what we think of as "waste."
Through a clear and structured approach, Pierre explains the Lansink scale, the hierarchy of waste management, from the most virtuous (prevention) to the last resort, landfilling.

Pierre illustrates how this method can be applied in industry as well as in services : refurbishment, reuse, composting, local partnerships, etc. so many levers to transform costs into opportunities.

The episode also addresses economic issues : reducing processing costs, creating revenue from by-products, regulatory compliance, and enhancing brand image.
With concrete examples of Belgian companies, Pierre demonstrates that reducing waste also means gaining competitiveness and resilience.

A pragmatic approach, accessible to all structures, which proves that ecology and economy can move forward hand in hand.

This episode is part of the "Circular Economy" triptych :

  • Save resources

  • Optimize assets

  • Reduce waste
