Visual Communication Internship
Job description
Steppers Studio is an engaged print & web graphic design studio based in Brussels. We work primarily with associations, cultural structures, federations, institutions, and companies driving positive impact projects.
We are looking for an intern to strengthen our team on missions in graphic design, visual communication, and branding, with a strong emphasis on creativity, reflection, and experimentation.
Your mission: Studio communication
You will participate in the development of Steppers' communication, notably through:
Creating visuals for our website and social networks;
Developing and declining the studio's visual identity;
Creating promotional and communication materials;
Designing materials for our workshops and events;
Formatting presentation files and internal documents.
The goal is not simply to "produce visuals", but to help build communication consistent with the studio's identity and values.
Participation in client projects
At the same time, you will be able to take part in certain ongoing projects, notably:
Graphic research and visual identity development;
Declinations and communication materials;
Layout and preparation of presentation files;
Visual research and creative proposals.
Depending on your profile, skills, and progress during the internship, you will be able to gradually take on more responsibilities during certain stages of the projects.
Profile
We are looking for someone who is curious, creative, and structured, who enjoys thinking through a challenge just as much as finding the right graphic solution.
Ideally, you are:
Sensitive to social, environmental, and inclusion issues;
Interested in eco-design and responsible design practices;
Comfortable understanding a brief, analyzing a challenge, and formulating proposals;
Curious and open to different graphic universes;
Capable of working independently while knowing when to ask for help or share your thoughts;
Attentive to others, team dynamics, and the social realities surrounding the projects you work on.
Skills:
Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite or other open-source graphic creation tools;
Ability to create visuals and graphic proposals without relying on generative AI;
Good foundations in layout, typography, and composition;
Knowledge of Figma;
Analytical skills and ability to understand a brief;
Interest in branding and web design;
Interest in social media and its various formats.
We value someone who reflects on what they are doing and why they are doing it, rather than just technical software proficiency.
Why apply?
At Steppers, we are a small team where everyone has a genuine place in the studio's projects.
During your internship, you will be able to:
Discover the inner workings of a creative studio and its daily operations;
Participate in real projects, from conception to production;
Understand our work processes and project management tools;
Experiment with different working methodologies;
Work alongside graphic designers, designers, and developers;
Receive feedback and grow throughout the projects;
Discover the concrete challenges related to eco-design, inclusion, and accessibility in design professions.
Drink coffee, tea, herbal tea, chicory, and Club-Mate all day long.
All of this in a friendly working environment in Brussels, alongside a team of professionals who are invested in their projects and their craft.
Conduct of interviews
Send us your CV and portfolio via links only, so **no attachments**. We try to limit as much as possible files that transit and remain stored unnecessarily in mailboxes and servers. A link to your online portfolio, Figma, Behance, a personal website, or a sharing space is therefore perfectly fine for us. If you do not have a portfolio we will not be able to evaluate your application.
The recruitment process will take place in three stages:
First selection on file: we will examine the CVs and portfolios received in order to identify profiles matching our expectations and the studio's spirit.
Meeting with the team: pre-selected profiles will be invited to a first interview with the team, via videoconference or in person. This will be an opportunity to get to know each other, discuss your motivations, your background, and your approach to design.
Final interview: a final meeting will be organized with the selected person to clarify the internship terms and prepare their arrival at the studio.
