A Morgue Attendant (m/f/x)
Under a 6-month part-time fixed-term contract (80%)
What does the job consist of?
As an agent at the morgue, you are an essential link between the care units, the morgue, the families and the funeral homes.
Your mission? To ensure respectful and professional care of the deceased, from their arrival at the morgue to their delivery to the funeral home, while ensuring that the administrative procedures run smoothly and that the relatives are welcomed.
In concrete terms, you:
· ensure the transport of the deceased from the care units to the morgue, in compliance with identification and hygiene procedures;
· install the deceased in the morgue and carry out the necessary care to make him presentable, including the mortuary toilet;
· prepare the visiting areas taking into account the cultural or religious wishes and uses of the families;
· welcome and support loved ones with listening, empathy and discretion, by providing them with the necessary practical information;
· ensure that the administrative formalities related to the death are complied with and carried out properly;
· ensure the identification of the deceased and the control of the necessary documents at each stage;
· coordinate the handing over of the body to the funeral directors, in accordance with procedures;
· ensure cleanliness, disinfection of equipment and maintenance of stocks necessary for the proper functioning of the morgue;
You will be required to travel to the various sites of the hospital (Etterbeek-Ixelles, Molière Longchamp, Joseph Bracops).
How about we talk about you?
Your experience and knowledge:
· You have a first experience related to the position (agent at the morgue, funeral home, transport of patients, etc.)
· This is a real plus if you:
- know the hygiene rules and procedures applicable in hospitals,
- have knowledge of the formalities and procedures related to death (certificates, identification, funeral directors, etc.)
- know the different stages of mortuary washing,
- have a basic knowledge of cultural and religious customs related to death
· You have a good knowledge of Dutch: You are able to understand the patient's needs and communicate with your colleagues.
· Your computer knowledge allows you to ensure optimal follow-up of files.
Your skills:
More than your experience, we are looking for someone who:

· knows how to stay calm and manage emotions in difficult situations;
· is rigorous and attentive to detail, particularly during identification checks and administrative procedures;

What we offer you
· Type of contract: 6-month fixed-term contract
· Working time: 80% (30h24/week)
· Opening hours: 8am-4pm from Monday to Friday (1 day off to be defined) + callable on-call 1 weekend out of 3

Remuneration based on the scales applied, with resumption of seniority:
· Min: 1984,85€ (index: 2.1647)
· Max : 2984,79€ (index 2.1647)
