A Multipurpose Kitchen Worker (m/f/x)

For a 6-month fixed-term contract on a full-time basis (38h/week)

What does the job involve?

As a member of the kitchen team, you participate in the smooth running of the service and help ensure the preparation, setup, and distribution of meals. You ensure the proper organization of your work and compliance with hygiene, safety, traceability, and allergen management rules.

On a daily basis, your role revolves around various tasks:

·       Set up the foodstuffs required for the portioning lines and check their use-by dates weekly.

·        Transport meal trolleys to the various units and ensure they are cleared after service, as well as participate in setting up and clearing meeting rooms, ensuring they are well-organized before and after meals or events.

·       Perform dishwashing tasks and ensure the cleaning of crockery, equipment, and various utensils used in the kitchen.

·       Maintain cold rooms and ensure their cleanliness as well as the proper storage of foodstuffs.

·       Receive and store goods in storage areas in compliance with product storage and preservation rules.

·       Prepare certain side dishes, desserts, snacks, and sandwiches intended in particular for meetings.

·       Ensure the daily cleaning of the kitchen and maintenance of equipment to maintain a clean working environment compliant with hygiene standards.

·       Empty trash cans and contribute to maintaining the general cleanliness of the workspaces.

·       Comply with hygiene, allergen management, traceability, and safety rules to guarantee the quality and safety of preparations and meals.

What about you?

Your experience and knowledge:

·       Experience in a similar role and knowledge of HACCP standards, traceability, and allergens are expected.

·       You have a good knowledge of Dutch.

Your skills:

·       Your sense of organization and your ability to ensure the smooth progress of various tasks in the kitchen.

·       Your rigor and your attention to compliance with hygiene rules, HACCP standards, safety, and traceability.

·       Your ability to work in a team and collaborate with the various members of the kitchen staff.

·       Your autonomy in carrying out the tasks entrusted to you.

·       Your ability to adapt to different activities and service needs.

·       Your versatility, essential for participating in various preparation, cleaning, and tidying tasks.

·       Your dynamism and your ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

·       Your punctuality and reliability, essential for the smooth running of the service.

We offer you:

·       Contract type: 6-month fixed-term contract

·       Working time: 100% (38 hours/week)

·       Working hours: Monday to Friday, hours between 06:30 AM and 05:06 PM (+ Weekends and Public Holidays)

·       Preferential rates in all hospitals of the IRIS + Erasme network (for you, your spouse, your ascendants, and dependents) ;

·       Meal vouchers with a value of €7.30 ;

·       100% reimbursement of public transport costs for STIB, 80% for SNCB, TEC, and DE LIJN, and/or a bicycle allowance of €0.36/km.

·       A bilingualism allowance (subject to submitting the Selor Art. 10 or 12 certificate, you will have the opportunity to take free Dutch lessons during your working hours) ;

·       24 days of statutory leave and 5 days of extra-statutory leave (+ circumstantial leave) ;

Remuneration based on applicable scales, with recognition of seniority:

-       Min: €2,396.49 gross per month (index: 2.2080)
