Job description

4-month fixed-term contract (January to April 2027) - maternity leave cover

Les Hôpitaux Iris Sud are looking for their Etterbeek Ixelles and Molière Longchamp sites

  • A motivated neuropsychologist, ready to commit;
  • You will work on a part-time basis (20 hours/week), with the possibility of organizing your schedule in half-days or full days.
  • You will be exclusively responsible for conducting neuropsychological assessments for a diverse patient base, ranging from early childhood to the elderly.

In this capacity, you will independently carry out neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.

With children and adolescents:

  • Conducting cognitive and intellectual assessments, notably using the WPPSI, WISC, and WNV scales.
  • Conducting attentional and executive assessments, primarily in cases of suspected attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and learning disabilities.
  • Conducting cognitive evaluations for requests for care or reimbursement of speech therapy sessions.
  • Analyzing results and formulating recommendations adapted to the identified difficulties.

With adults:

  • Conducting targeted neuropsychological assessments for acquired neurological conditions (stroke, traumatic brain injury, etc.).
  • Conducting assessments in cases of suspected ADHD in adults.
  • Cognitive evaluation for memory complaints or suspected neurocognitive disorders, particularly neurodegenerative pathologies.

Cross-functional duties:

  • Conducting anamnesis interviews and selecting appropriate assessment tools.
  • Administering, scoring, and interpreting neuropsychological tests.
  • Writing structured clinical reports integrating results, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Delivering neuropsychological reports within the required timeframes so they are available before follow-up medical consultations with neurologists, geriatricians, and pediatricians.
  • Collaborating with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals.

The position is exclusively dedicated to neuropsychological assessments and does not include follow-up or cognitive rehabilitation.

To be eligible for this position, you must meet and accept the following conditions:

  • You hold a Master's degree in clinical psychology, ideally with a specialization or advanced training in neuropsychology.
  • You hold the visa and approvals necessary to practice clinical psychology in Belgium.
  • You have a good command of neuropsychological assessment tools for both children and adults.
  • You are familiar with pediatric intellectual scales (WPPSI, WISC, WNV) and attentional, executive, and memory assessment tools.
  • You have a good knowledge of the main neurodevelopmental, neurological, and neurodegenerative issues.
  • You are able to conduct a complete neuropsychological assessment independently, from anamnesis to report writing.
  • You demonstrate clinical rigor, synthesis skills, autonomy, organization, and good writing skills.
  • You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team and engaging in interdisciplinary exchanges.
  • You have knowledge of the second national language.

Previous clinical experience with various populations (pediatric, adult, and geriatric) is a significant asset.

We offer you:

  • An independent contract of 20 hours/week, for a fixed duration of 4 months, as part of a maternity leave replacement.
  • An attractive remuneration in the form of fees, with a fee-splitting system. Fees are paid based on the services you have performed. Therefore, you do not have to pay a flat fee for the use of the premises when you have no patients.
  • An already established patient base, allowing you to benefit from a regular flow of consultations without having to build your own patient base.
  • Equipped offices and neuropsychological assessment equipment made available, notably the WAIS, WISC, WNV, WPPSI scales, as well as TAP computerized tools.
  • Access to office supplies and equipment necessary for clinical activity (printers, storage spaces, etc.).
  • Diversified clinical activity, with patients ranging from children to the elderly.
  • A multidisciplinary hospital environment promoting clinical exchanges with other healthcare professionals.
  • Integration into a team of experienced neuropsychologists and professionals.
  • Preferential rates in all hospitals of the IRIS network.
