Today, we are looking for an Operations And Close Specialist to join our Brussels team.

👉 How will you make a difference

You will contribute to reporting, accounting and taxation within the local finance team. You will report to the local finance officer.

🚀 Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You take care of the complete accounting of the Belgian branch (since the monthly closing in BE GAAP, you take care of Schedule A reporting and IFRS reporting at the head office, which leads to the filing of the local annual accounts of the Belgian branch and the filing of the annual reports at the head office).

  • You are responsible for monitoring and implementing the billing process. You process bank account statements and ensure the necessary reconciliation.

  • You take care of VAT processing and returns

  • You actively collaborate

  • various internal and external reports (including monthly reports to the National Bank of Belgium, the headquarters in the Netherlands, tax returns, VAT returns, withholding tax, etc.)

  • maintaining internal processes and procedures

  • Improving our analytics tools

  • You support internal projects related to finance and taxation.

  • You are responsible for the efficient and effective execution of all financial and administrative actions in accordance with the applicable legal requirements (accounting, taxation and reporting).

Profile

What you bring

👌 To succeed in this position:

  • You preferably have a bachelor's degree in accounting and taxation, or an equivalent degree, and you have a first professional experience in a similar position. Banking experience is a plus

  • Experience or knowledge of IFRS is an asset.

  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office and an excellent command of Excel.

  • You work in a precise, structured and efficient manner. You like to work with numbers and you will work with them to understand them, analyze them, ask the right questions and present analyses.

  • You have a good knowledge of French, Dutch and English.

  • You work in a small structure, so team spirit and social skills are essential.
