The event project manager promotes cycling and the discovery of cycling in Brussels within the EVENT department and more specifically follows the 2 projects "families on bike " and "Vollenbike " related to the practice of cycling with the family. He/she works in collaboration with the other project managers by providing operational and logistical support to other projects such as the peaceful neighborhood ParviS à vélo, Bike Experience, Bike Talks, Bike Travel Day,....
Under the supervision of the Tour & Event Manager, the project manager will focus on the "Families on bike " and " Vollenbike Jette " projects.
In line with the European Cairgo Bike project and aiming to be more inclusive and accessible, the "Families on bike " project is launching for the first year in 2024. It focuses on the municipalities of St Gilles and Forest and aims to have a regional influence from the Circularium in Anderlecht.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the following tasks :
Coordination of the project in pairs for the planning of activities, the strategy and the development of the project covering administrative, organizational, budgetary and strategic aspects;
Contact and canvassing of project partners in order to promote the project and ensure that the organization of operational activities are adapted to reach the target audience;
Consultation and coordination with the various internal departments of Pro Velo involved in the organization and activities of this event (training center, provision of bicycles, communication, design office, etc.) ;
Operational organization (find a location, set the time, etc.) ;
Be present at events for the start and animation of activities (have families test the bike, training, information about the family bike exchange, etc.) ;
Promote these events in collaboration with Pro Velo's communication department.
The "Vollenbike Jette " project has been running for several years and is organised in collaboration with the municipality of Jette as well as with the financial support of Brussels Mobility. It takes place every year in September.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:
Overall coordination of the project by ensuring the follow-up of the operational, strategic and budgetary tasks of the project in collaboration with 2 project managers responsible for the Vollenbikes of other municipalities ;
Organisation of the Vollenbike Challenge in partnership with the schools (canvassing, promotion of the Challenge in the classrooms in collaboration with the teachers, organisation of the action and collection of points, planning of the closing parade, etc.);
Organization of the Vollenbike Village on the 3 Wednesdays of September on the Place Cardinal Mercier in strong connection with local actors as well as bicycle service providers (free repair, various activities around cycling, etc.) and coordination of logistics (request for authorization, storage location, search for volunteers and the team on site...).
The physical presence and operational coordination of the "Vollenbike Forest " at the beginning of May will also be ensured by le.la project manager.
In addition, the project manager will organise the "car-free day" in Jette and support his colleagues in other projects (" Bike Experience ", "Cycling in the peaceful district of ParviS ", other "Vollenbike ", "Bike Talks ",...) with occasional participation in events in the evenings and weekends.
You hold a degree in the field of Events, Public Relations, Communication, Tourism, Executive Secretariat or you have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar function (event organization);
Your organization and good stress management allow you to work as a team on several projects at the same time ;
You have an affinity with the family/children audience;
You are dynamic, proactif.ve, versatile, resourceful, autonomous and responsible in your work ;
You are organized and respectueux.se deadlines ;
Available and attentive, you are diplomatic and have good interpersonal skills;
You are fluent in Dutch and have a good knowledge of English ;
You are willing to work occasionally in the evenings and/or on weekends ;
You are concerned by active mobility and environmental issues;
You are a cyclist and comfortable using a cargo bike.

A gross monthly salary between €2,422 and €2,563 (part-time salary) depending on the length of service recognised in a similar position.
