Any tourist passing through a country inevitably enters a souvenir shop. In Brussels, Manneke is the place not to be missed. Far from being a classic tourist trap, the shop refuses clichés to highlight only local know-how. Say goodbye to Manneken Vis keyrings, make way for Brussels creations!

According to its founder, the store is a reflection of a "city of character and contrasts". Indeed, Brussels is more than 1000 years old but nevertheless young, dynamic and diverse. Manneke intends to celebrate this fascinating city by reinventing memory. A showcase for local designers, the shop, a stone's throw from the Grand-Place, showcases all kinds of objects. You can find everything from small brewers' beers, designer jewellery, purely Belgian t-shirts and books about the unusual Brussels. Nothing is missing in this little Ali Baba's cave in the flat country! Locals or tourists can discover the wonders of Brussels by strolling through the shop, taking part in workshops (creating recycled items for example) or even going to craft markets.

Manneke has been distinguished by prestigious tourist guides such as the Guide du Routard and the Petit futé. The city of Brussels itself has praised it with the Brussels Label, an award that rewards shops that contribute to the dynamism of the city.

There's nothing better than getting together for a meal or a small Belgian beer to make connections and the Manneke team knows a thing or two about it! Joining Manneke means being part of a joyful band made up of 4 student and creative collaborators. The clientele is not to be outdone and warm moments with the team are frequent. Meeting and exchanging experiences are the very soul of the Brussels shop (especially during the Christmas period!). The challenges at Manneke will delight any talent who wants to be able to take on responsibilities and grow with this fast-growing company.

Fun fact: The shop will soon be celebrating its 5th anniversary. The team will be sure to celebrate this moment in style, no doubt!

Our commitments to a sustainable world

Highlighting local creators isn't Manneke's only mission. The founders of the shop also want to promote fair trade and the preservation of the planet as much as possible.

In fact, the environmental impact is constantly taken into account. An environmental charter guides all actions in the store. A former biologist and environmentalist, the store's founder is particularly up-to-date on these subjects.

The social impact of the shop lies in the promotion of small local designers. With around 90 designers in its store, Manneke has built up a pool of talent and is working to foster their development as best as possible. The shop is an example of the Brussels welcome to tourists and locals alike!
