Job description

At Dandoy, our "Team Leader" supervises the activities and productivity of the employees in his team. It ensures the smooth running of operations by ensuring that employees carry out instructions and perform at their best. They encourage positive behaviors by pointing out to individuals their strengths, and offering accurate and constructive criticism. As group leaders, they reiterate the principle that group success is key, and dedicate time to helping each team member achieve excellence, boosting productivity and morale through goal setting, encouragement, and demonstrations. The team leader is the first managerial level in the tasting room. He supports the manager and the assistant manager in the day-to-day management of the show, the supervision of the teams and the compliance with health and safety standards. He works in accordance with the values of the Dandoy house. Its values are commitment, excellence and team spirit.

The team leader will have to meet the different requirements in the different areas below:

Customers:

  • Be aware of and enforce the service standards specific to Maison Dandoy

  • Be able to handle a customer complaint and react as the case may be

  • Respect and ensure compliance with Maison Dandoy's HR guide

  • Ensure that the teams offer a warm welcome and quality service to each guest according to Maison Dandoy's standards

  • Attention to detail

  • Make sure to create a warm atmosphere for customers, cleanliness, music (playlist according to the season)

  • Ensure teams maintain a level of cleanliness that matches the brand's image. The tasting room must be clean and tidy (counter tidy, no damaged or expired products, restocking of shelves, floor, tables and chairs clean and tidy, etc.)

  • Be responsible for the opening and closing procedures of the tasting room

  • Follow ongoing business guidelines and rituals

Produce:

  • Know the assortment of products and recipes (biscuits, waffles, hot and cold drinks,...) in order to advise our customers in the best possible way

  • Mastering the different preparations (Brussels waffles, whipped cream, caramel, cold teas, etc.)

  • Mastering the different cooking and presentation of recipes (Topping).

  • Ensure that all products comply with company standards (storage, service, quality, freshness,...)

  • Is exceptionally required to place supplier orders in the absence of the point of sale managers

Team:

  • Be the ambassador of "Maison Dandoy" to team members and customers and to set an example

  • Keep a positive and smiling attitude even in stressful situations and motivate the team to do the same

  • Set up the organization of work (management of breaks, assignment of different positions, follow-up of work, feedback)

  • Be versatile and able to occupy the various positions in the tasting room (order taking, service, bar, dishwasher, cash register, biscuits, cooking, etc.)

  • Maintain constructive and caring communication with colleagues and the management team

  • Act proactively

  • Report quality problems or areas for improvement to the management team

  • Helping, monitoring and training employees

  • Gives feedback to the manager and his/her assistant on the performance of team members

HACCP/Process:

  • Keep your workstation clean and tidy (stock, worktop, kitchen, etc.).

  • Master cleaning procedures (waffle iron, whipped cream machine, coffee machine)

  • Guarantee good inventory management, Fifo by the teams

  • Be attentive to the proper management of losses.

  • Know, apply and enforce the rules of good hygiene and food safety practices, the procedures put in place (cleaning and disinfection, maintenance of the hot and cold chain, waste management, and safety)

  • Make sure the toilets are clean (toilet, sink, toilet paper, hand towels,...)

Profile

  • Management experience in the HORECA sector;

  • Flexible person willing to work weekends, holidays and evenings;

  • Enthusiastic personality with communicative energy;

  • Gourmet spirit and a certain interest in quality artisanal products;

  • High resistance to stress;

  • Practical and pragmatic spirit as well as good organization;

  • You are fluent in English and have a good knowledge of Dutch. Any other language is a plus.
