Job description

As Goodturn's Branch Manager, you will be at the foot of a young organisation, founded by 5 NGOs. In close collaboration with the director, you will support an impact-driven team of ambassadors in face-to-face fundraising and help shape the future of the cooperative for ethical fundraising

You will have a varied range of tasks, with the most important responsibilities being managing and coaching the team and ensuring the recruitment of new ambassadors for our rapidly growing team.

Team:

Together with the director (Joeri), you form the management of the Goodturn cooperative. Joeri has twenty years of experience in F2F, including at Greenpeace, has a heart for ethical fundraising and for the team. You work directly for the 5 NGOs that founded Goodturn. You and the director work together on a daily basis at the Antwerp office. In addition, you will work together with the Goodturn coach, and you will lead a team of 15 ambassadors (ethical fundraisers).

Goodturn is a growing organization; Within a year, the team will have about 25 ambassadors, consisting of a mix of working students and employees.

Job responsibilities:

Managing the team

  • You are the first point of contact for the team.

  • You lead the team meetings, and have 1 on 1 conversations where necessary.

  • You provide daily shift briefings for the team, alternating with the coach.

  • You will provide training on sales techniques, together with the coaches and the NGOs.

  • You regularly go out on the field with the team, using your F2F knowledge to coach and motivate the team.

  • You draw up the schedule on a monthly basis.

  • You create a good atmosphere within the team. You have an eye for the diversity of the different ambassadors, and you know how to involve everyone.

  • You help monitor the performance of the ambassadors.

  • You organize monthly team activities, and come up with new ways to motivate the team.

  • You write the weekly internal newsletter.

Recruitment & Marketing

  • You are responsible for the recruitment of new ambassadors: you write the vacancy text, follow up on the applications and conduct the job interviews.

  • You come up with new strategies to recruit suitable ambassadors.

  • You will be responsible for Goodturn's employer branding and marketing.

  • You manage Goodturn's social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, possibly TikTok).

  • You maintain Goodturn's website (Webflow).

Contact with the NGOs 

  • You make agreements with the various NGOs regarding planning, training and campaigning.

Management & Office

  • You support the director in achieving the KPIs.

  • You think about the future of Goodturn.

  • You are responsible for the maintenance and decoration of the office, and you take care of the orders.

Profile

  • You support Goodturn's core values and mission and you want to commit to ethical and efficient F2F fundraising.

  • You are familiar with face-to-face fundraising (street and/or door-to-door), or have knowledge of sales techniques.

  • You have a heart for NGOs.

  • You can give sales training, or want to learn how to do so.

  • You know how to create a team spirit, you are a people manager and you can manage people in a committed way.

  • You are flexible, problem-solving and can switch quickly with a hands-on attitude.

  • You have a very good knowledge of Dutch.

Pluses

  • You have experience in managing and coaching a team

  • You have knowledge of recruitment and/or online marketing

  • You have experience in providing training

  • You are in possession of a car driver's license

  • You live in (the vicinity of) Antwerp

  • You are willing to work weekends (Saturdays) and evenings

  • Start date: May 27, 2024. Sooner possible too.
